How is M Smith even a footballer?

Think a lot of you are very harsh. He was feeding off scraps last night. Tried to make a good impression by dropping into midfield & getting stuck in.

Let's judge him when he gets some service

Couldn't agree more. Thought Smith was ok and put himself into the game much more than Winnall - although Sam was played out of position for half of the game anyway.

I thought he was one of our better players last night; he looks short on confidence but then they all do; some of his first touches were poor, admittedly, but again this is probably down to lack of recent game time and lack of confidence. What I did see was a good footballing brain, someone who has the potential to be a good player for us; his reverse pass out to Wabara in the first half was pure class. Let's give him (and everyone else) some time.

Big Jean M'voto looked a better striker than Smith.

There's nothing like constructive criticism, and your comment was nothing like constructive criticism.

But sadly Mr Xerxes was spot on in his assessment!

There was one, but he has form for being a "Tommy Opposite", he hated Hassell and thought Wiseman was the best defender we had !

I really felt sorry for him yesterday - he had no one near him 90% of the time, did some good things, did some bad things but not as bad you're portraying him. I'd still play him but with Winnall. Have they played together at all since he joined? Two strikers who scored 30 goals between them last season?

Saying that, I thought Jackson offered something different last night.

    M Smith - an apology

Ok, hands up, last night's post was a little on the harsh side. He did do a couple of good things.

I'm just frustrated watching a big lad getting out muscled by much smaller players, and I did think his control was more "hopeful" than confident.

That said, it is early days, and it is unlike me to have a go at players at all, let alone so soon. I sincerely hope he makes a mockery of this post from now on.

Michael Smith, pro footballer, I am sorry for questioning your undisputed track record. Please let's see it at Oakwell, sharpish.

Haha, but how many on here were so happy when we got him? - but I guess that was through all the frustration of a very poor close season of recruitment which for the most part was a waste of time

He was ok for me yesterday. One of the better performers.

If we follow this pattern of judgment, Ryan Williams is crap, can't pass a ball and should return to non league Australian football. But we all know you can't judge a player on such a short spell...........don't we?
