We were 2 points off the play-offs in 8th and things were looking fairly optimistic. Its been a terrible month... but that isn't really justification for sacking the manager is it, even if we lose on Saturday.. We are a young team and will have bad patches. It will even itself out over the season and I still think we will finish top 10, ready to push on for next season.
Whilst I admire your optimism another defeat on saturday would not be acceptable in any shape or form. So the answer to your question is yes, he would have to go for me.
I'm all for a long term approach, providing we have the correct man in place. We obviously haven't and I suspect the club now are aware of this and will stick with him to save face. The problem is the fan base is already crumbling and league 2 football next season could be a reality
I don't agree with the OP. Here is how I felt mid September when I posted this. I left the match last week feeling very disappointed but this week I have left.............unexcited. I am totally bemused by todays game. The initial team selection left me feeling flat as did the performance in the first few minutes. Whilst the changes definitely improved the performance and the result was unexpected, I still can't help feeling its another false dawn. It wasn't working, so it had to be changed, but will we learn from it or start the next game in a similar vein. For me there were just as many bad bits to today's game as good bits and we are nowhere near yet. No doubt many will disagree but I cannot get excited just yet. Nowt as improved, in fact its got worse. Believe it or not, this was posted after the Swindon game and is not a sack the manager message.
