Maybe I should have used the word potential along with talent. I'd say as a group of players we have the squad with the most potential for the future. In Winnall we have IMO the best striker in the league, someone needs to recognise this and play to his strengths it just seems so blindingly obvious. We need some kind of experience in midfield, that again seems blatantly obvious but in Scowen, again, I cant say I've seen anyone at this level I'd swap him for. Mawson, Roberts and Nyatanga are all more than up to this level aswell, add Watkins, Wabara, Smith, Davies who are all good players and we have some talent for the division, all players I'd imagine would get into any squad in the league, so if its not the talent available thats the problem, surely it has to be the tactics?

I just don't see them as being as talented as you do, mate. I think they need some older heads in with em.

Yeh most certainly we do. I remember wanting us to get Gary Roberts in in the summer, couple of older heads sprinkled around the side but theres no way a side with the players we have at this level should be where we are.

To get these young uns playing closer to their potential, I feel some experienced lads would help them do that. But I think most of Barnsley knew as much, months ago. Yet the club kept on bringing in youngsters, from other academy's on loan.

Is another relegation (putting the worst case scenario) worth tolerating for stability and the 'long term plan'? Is that a price folks would willingly pay?

I was just trying to point out what IMO some of the reasons are, and that I don't think significant changes are needed to turn the possession in to chances. Saturday (without several key players) we deserved nothing but in other games we certainly did and in no games have we been a shambles.

I think Winnall is a great player and is perfectly capable of playing on the wing, particularly in a formation where you expect the winger to be a second striker when the ball is on the other side of the pitch. Against Crewe he waltzed past three of their players before setting up Watkins at the back post, and he has scored numerous goals for us from distance cutting in from the left. He reminds me of Davies who used to play that role under Hill, with Gray being the target man.

I thought Chestsrfield and Wallsall were pretty shambolic myself. Didn't go to Fleetwood so can't comment.

Winnall left of Smith, Watkins (Isgrove until) wide right?

I see the method in your madness. But your midfield will still consist of skinny little lads who are easily bullied, and the team still lacks any leaders or experience.

It might just take a win, to restore belief etc. I just can't believe I'm now fearing relegation to the fourth division. It's mental.

While some games we havent deserved to lose like Donny, we were still very mediocre. I cant remember the last game I went to where I came out thinking "that was good". Infact I cant remember the last time I came out thinking "I can see where we're trying to go with this".

He doesnt have the legs for me and it would be a complete waste of the qualities he's got. It'd have been like Fergie playing Van Nistelrooy on the left wing so they'd be more compact defensively with 3 in midfield.

Main reason not to sack him...it's October. There are still over 6 months of the season left with a lot of football left to play. We're terrible at present and deserve to be where we are in the league, but he must be given more of a chance to turn it around. It would also help if the crowd got behind them more, sang a few songs etc. the atmosphere at Oakwell is shocking and can't be helping. Have they banned all the young lads who used to sing? If so, that's looking like a misjudgement...

I haven't been away so can't comment, although I appreciate Southend and Rochdale were pretty terrible. I meant in terms of getting tonked every week and being all over the place tactically, which I think is different to not liking the style of football.

If Harris could cross a ball he would be first name on the team sheet, but he can't.

Absolutely. Comes back to recruitment doesn't it? Don't know whether the lad from Oldham (their captain isn't he) would have made the difference.

The atmosphere is by product of being bored to death by the putrid football on show. Remember going back a few years to Robins or even early Hill when we had a go at teams? The atmosphere was completely different.

I dunno, mate. Even by the ends of Keith and Flicker, I didn't not bother to attend. It's not a results issue for me, it's the awful football on show tied in with a feeling of disconnection. I just felt I could do without going through it on Saturday, and I'm glad I stayed away, although the club still got my money so hardly a protest or owt. :D

Johnson told me himself that Kelly was his number one target, that he'd be our leader and was confident in getting him in.

A key thing he said to us that night I think is now rather fitting...

"You think you can build us a side to get out of the division as early as next season?"

"100%, so long as they back me."

I get all the points about LJ only being a head coach and that there are problems further up the food chain. But for me, the reason why I still want a change is that even if the restrictions we perceive him to be working under are correct, he is still giving all the signs of being not a good manager, or coach or whatever we want to call it. So perhaps, just perhaps, there is someone who could work with the same setup and restrictions, with the same job title, and be a lot better at it. Just because we think that there are problems above doesn't detract from the fact that LJ appears to be **** at his job.

Lets also not forget LJ accepted these RUMOURED restrictions when he accepted the job.

Could the club be brave enough and have the finances to bring in someone like Kevin Nolan to the club or does that completely against the clubs recruitment plan?
