I am 57years old and at half time on Saturday had a look round at the supporters. I felt like a young un! How does the club replace the stallwarts when they peg it?

Theres loads of young uns affiliated with the club.

Big games at right hand side of the ponty is full of them all u21...

Some are crackers some want a row in an empty room some want a few beers some just enjoy the game. Some are a mixture of all the above.

The problem is the club is seems is determined to austrcise these gangs of lads believing the rhetoric of Syp.

See the sixty or seventy getting turned around at doncaster for little or no apparent reason.

Eventually these lads regardless of mindset will start chalking **** on it and find something else to do on a saturday.

You look back ten years at an away match and you could see a mob of wombwell lads mob of goldthorpe mob of grimey mob of darton mob from dodwurth mob from honeywell etc all United under the same banner. Stuck together.

Thats what these young kids are doing now. Sticking together.
Without them this club wont last ten years.

    Exactly this.

Then the 25 - 35 age bracket are being priced out. You can't go to football and feed a kid anymore.

I think one of the reasons is the wanting a row in an empty room thing. Another is the being pissed thing

    Just a guess like

Go on really? In my experience nobody gets told to sit down just for trying to create a good atmosphere, and if you can't tell the difference then that's your problem not everybody else's, how old are you anyway 18/19?
What you should realise is the fans that you are moaning about were there in the seventies and eighties and before and there WAS a proper atmosphere

Thats exactly why they get told to sit down and no, I'm a fair bit older than that thank you, Im not saying this for me, I like to watch the game more than go mad but it's almost laughable the amount of boring old folk we have at games doing nothing but moaning at the younger lads trying to make some sort of atmosphere. Couldnt care less if the older people were there in the 70's/80's, were they as dull and boring back then?

Ever noticed most of the clubs who have a well known away atmosphere at games all stand non stop? Stoke, Leeds, Wednesday etc.

All seater stadiums lack atmosphere. Modern football is dull and overly concerned with not losing. Football is too expensive. Players are paid too much leading to a fracture between fans and club. There is a myriad of cheaper and more exciting alternatives. We do discourage our young fans from daring to make noise at every opportunity ( not that I defend them when they step out of line). So I guess the answer is yes.

That was just an honest guess based on the tone and content of your posts not at an attempt to patronise at all.In fact I nearly went younger

Well, I was 6 when I first came to Oakwell, and I'm now 33, so yes, definitely getting older.

So because I have a different opinion to you I must be a young, immature lad?
