Everyone is saying we need experience, but looking at recent history I can't say I agree.

The more experienced players from last season were all major disappointments. Lita,Treacy,Ramage and Turnbull all generally had a negative influence on the team in my opinion.

Frankly I can't be bothered to mention all the lazy, disinterested hasbeens we went through in the championship. We've gone through countless amounts of this type of player since my first season ticket in 2004 and the last thing I want is for us to return to that.

Apart from the god awful tactics it is Communication and no leadership that is the main issue. LJ is right when he says they are all mutes. The likes of Scowen and Nyatanga need to be barking orders at times. When players don't talk to each other they are not going to play as a team.

All our successful teams have been mainly comprised of experienced players from Derek Bell to Jason Scotland.

Have you ever played football competively as an adult? If you have, you should know that young uns play miles better if they have got one or t'owd men in the team who know the game and give them guidance during it.

Never. We have never had a good player over 21 years of age.

You can just get a player who isn't that that type to do it. Scowen is currently mouthing off at anyone but himself and I've never seen Tangs as a leader.

We've had some decent older players, we've had some ***** ones. Just as we've had the same from younger players too.

    This a wind up?

Name one successful team, ever, not just Barnsley, who didn't have at least one senior experienced pro steering the ship.

    Good grief.

The only player we have over 25 (I think) is nyatanga and he's not a leader, not a speaker. We need a presence - either at centre back or ideally central midfield. Calming it down, barking orders, making them graft.

I think you are the only poster on here not to believe this to be the case. Each to their own - but I think it's essential

“Bobby Hassell is a big role model for me. There’s a lot of advice and key tips I’ve taken on board. It’s always a big help for me. It’s sometimes hard to take on, knowing you’re not as experienced as them, but it gets a lot easier when your confidence builds.

“What Bobby’s done is brilliant so it would be great to achieve something like that.

Wednesday alone must have given us a good team of experienced players - Springett, Wilson, O'Grady, Jonsson, Anderson, Joicey, Smith, etc, etc.

Experience doesnt always mean 30+ players. I think people just want a couple of players who have played at this/championship level a little and arent just breaking into first team football. I think Bailey would have been a good player for us this season.

Dont think Conlon wa here that season. Cant remember us having many young players that season either, think most were around mid twenties.
