We're ten points off the playoffs and while we will win some more games I don't think we'll find the consistency to make the top six this season. Getting out of the bottom four is our first target. One step at a time Ben, I mean Andy.

 

Yes the stats would say that. Alternately, looking at the stats the other way and given the run of form we could be down in 3 months. The team is shi@e, the manager is shi@e, the football on offer is garbage. Oakwell is a morgue. Yep, lets get in the play-offs then.....
I cannot think why anyone would want to spin anything positive about the dross I am watching apart from a need to find some solace in absolutely anything at all apart from the fact that the team is pants. In statistics one can find comfort in anything. When we go down with this clown and are flirting with non-league no doubt someone on here will spout some stats to perk us all up. Woopee doo!!

Scenario One

We have made a visionary appointment of a young and promising manager who will alter the ethos of the club, and build a squad to get us out of League One playing football the right way. We are building a team on promising youngsters and recruits who we can develop.

Scenario Two

We have persisted in 'going cheap', taking on an inexperienced guy who is learning his trade, but who is happy to cede some of the traditional manager's functions to others in the club who hardly have a good track record in exercising them. Like we did in the Championship, we have recruited from the league below, and are desperately hoping some of the gambles pay off. We are producing a small percentage of 'diamonds' through the Academy, but sell the good ones off leaving ourselves with the plodders. The manager is too star struck by the coaching theories to appreciate the hard realities of this league and the compromises to style required to get out of it.

Which is it? Time will tell. I suppose your view at present depends on whether you are ruled by heart or head!

 

We're only in October. We were much further into the season last year, and about 19th in the league 2 points above the bottom 2, before going on that 6 game winning streak and flirting ever so briefly with the top 6.

I still think we've a better team this year.

Were in the bottom 4 so the team at the moment aren't very good.!
