Should it be allowed on the NHS when the NHS is shagged financially as it is? No from me. If they want to pay privately then that's fine.
Over here, the taxpayer, which includes me, now pay for prisoners to have this. However, most people realize the increasing insanity in the USA, and especially California.
Scrap the death penalty and the savings will pay for that, with some left over for schools/healthcare etc.
So someone born the wrong gender should go through a life of misery, mockery, pain and suffering on a daily basis? Lets ban cancer drugs and not treat anyone who drinks alcohol or smokes shall we, while we're at it? Jesus wept
Born the wrong gender. The problem with that is it is extremely difficult to understand or get your head around isn't it. It appears a bit like saying I was born with the wrong oenis length or born the wrong height or with the wrong coloured eyes. Don't get me wrong, in all for people paying to do what they want if it makes them happier but as for them being medically born in the wrong gender (which essentially is what we are saying) and thus needing NHS money to pay for a change in just not sure and it mainly because I don't understand it and to be honest not many of us do either.
I'm sure many things are very difficult for many people to get their head around. Seemingly moreso if compassion and empathy is required. This small minority group are born with something they have no choice over. And often take an unbelievably brave, and sometimes public decision to try and live a life that is true to them. Yet there are millions who drink, smoke, eat bad foods, fail to exercise and will have chronic illnesses that cost the country huge amounts.... because of personal choice. But lets look after these people first because they are the majority. Sometimes I'm ashamed I was born in our narrow minded town. Sadly more often than I'm proud.
The budget for this sort of this thing is so tiny as to be completely irrelevant. How about no cancer treatment for those that eat processed meat?
Can I just stop you right there. No one is born the wrong gender. It's the world they grow up in that's wrong. Man up ffs
I suggest you apply some research before exposing your utter ignorance. There are no gay people either some would have us believe.
I confess to not having enough knowledge about this. I couldn't care less either way if someone wants to have gender reassignment so I'm not against it at all, what I don't understand (as I do not experience it) is what the problem is with being a certain gender. I kind of get what tykesfan is referring to, in that it is the world that is wrong. I'm not sure what difference it makes whether someone has a male or female part if society allowed them to act/dress however they wanted anyway. I'm not sure why the actual body part makes a difference.
You're probably right but I do sort of understand the feeling that it's a lifestyle choice rather than a medical necessity. But then again who's to say that by not having the gender reassignment treatment, the individual isn't suffering mentally and may be as a result, consuming expensive drugs on the NHS?
some cancer hospitals, like western park rely on charities as they receive little or no funding from the government/nhs. i'd also lke to point out that some cancer drugs arnt issued because of the cost
I don't understand what you get out of doing this? You started a similarly distasteful thread recently. You don't come across very well at all, might have to attend the next get together you all have and pick your brain.
Agreed. Yes. And I don't understand how anyone who has any idea what they're talking about could think otherwise.
