"Ben Pearson is back though and he’s been brilliant for us. He’s been one of our best and most consistent performers this season.

Dan Crowley has gone back to Arsenal and we’ve really enjoyed working with Dan ... I have nothing but positives to say about him.”

Pearson's quality was evident from his absence last week and what do you expect him to say about an 18 year old kid. Firstly he'd be a bit of a ****** if he publicly criticised a young lad and secondly we could kiss good bye ever bringing in a good young player again

He doesn't have to outright lie and make himself look clueless. He could simply say "Dan's ability has at times been evident but perhaps it was a little early in his career for the challenges of league 1. I'm sure he will develop into a great player and has a good career ahead of him".

And I fail to see how we missed Pearson's quality at all. What we missed was half a player, half of Scowerson. One is ***** without the other as essentially the two make up just one rank average league one defensive midfielder. If we had gone for quality not quantity in the middle then we would be playing ONE defensive midfielder and actually allowing another player to cross the half way line, as it is we have 2 poor players and sacrifice an attacking midfielder because neither are good enough to do the job on their own.

To put it another way it is like signing Reece brown and Scott Wiseman and playing 2 right backs because neither are good enough and then wondering why we always seem to be a player short up front.

I think you're finding issues that aren't there in his comments. And Pearson's replacement made the error that cost us the goal on Saturday

Pearson's replacement was given a shocking pass that proceeded the mistake. But I agree we missed Pearson btw.

We missed Hourihane a lot more imho. No one to deliver the set piece from which to score. Wonder what percentage of our goals under Johnson Hourihane has assisted. I would imagine it's very high.

We haven't scored a goal from open play since the Gillingham game on 26th September. In the six games since then we've scored 5 goals, 4 from the set piece deliveries of Hourihane and one penalty. In the three games since Hourihane has been absent we've just scored that penalty.

I really don't understand some of the flack Pearson gets. He's a fantastic player. How many times has he won man of the match at home this season, something chosen by the fans. He's doing something right. I'd say he's been very consistent this season.

He is hardly likely to come out and critise a 18 year old publicly is he? And like already been said pearsons replacement cost us he is a starter when fit.
Are you struggling for summat to moan about? Give it a few hours we minght lose, or if we win am sure our away support will misbehave so you can critise them.

    Fantastic? Jesus.

    Average league one player.

At best he's our 3rd best midfielder in a team battling to stay in the 3rd tier.

Consistently 'okay' for me, very rarely ***** or great. And you do need lads like that, Bobby Hassell was like that, a regular 7/10. He's had a fair old rest now after that suspension, so hopefully that will have helped him. He's got drive and purpose when he wants to, them lung-busting runs are a joy to watch. I hope Scunny pick Dawson in there, Ben and Josh far too quick for him.

I really rate Pearson. Really solid footballer, breaks up a lot of the opposition's attacks through his positioning and determination to get the ball, and his passing is massively underrated for some reason. There's been two or three games this season where he's single handedly tried to drive us forward with almost zero movement in front of him.

The likes of Pearson, Mawson, Davies and Scowen (when he/we find some form) are the reasons I think we're a bit of luck and some improved managerial decisions away from a very decent side.

It'll all come together, I'm convinced of it.
