Interesting read from the Lancashire Evening Post about David Beckham's time at Deepdale. I remember it happening and even though it was only for a month he made a favourable impression on the Preston fans.

When Crowley arrived at Oakwell I hoped he might do the same but it hasn't worked out for him. Perhaps if we had been top of the league his kind of luxury football would have fitted in well. In our position though he was a luxury we couldn't afford.

I'm not saying he will go on to have the same career as Beckham did, but I'll follow it with interest. I'm sure a few other Barnsley fans will as well.
