another guess by Leejay? hth p.s. if davies is fit enough to be on the bench, he ought to be playing cos Townsend couldn't stop a pig in a ginell
As usual, Paul Digby gets one game and then returns to the wilderness until the next time (usually about three months later). The lad wants releasing, because we're ruining him. And look, Brad Abbott exists. For this week. God it's depressing.
Leejay is guessing Mr W Hitey, he really is.....as for Digby, he does not help himself cos he does not do owt but I agree he should be shipped out.
Digby was awful last week though mate. Nothing about last Saturday would have you picking him ahead of Pearson and Scowen, and Isgrove was MOTM. It isn't harsh on Digby he isn't starting today. At times it felt like playing with ten men last week. That's not to say I disagree that we've ruined him by not giving him a chance sooner. He needed ten games in a row a couple of years ago and a spell out on loan for someone.
We have a fit left back, a fit right back, 2 fit centre backs, a fit left winger, a fit right winger, 2 fit central midfielders and 2 fit strikers. So 442 is a perfectly good option that involves lots of GS fitting neatly into the correct shaped holes. It's also bloody simple to play and every player in our squad knows how to play it. P's I know we have MORE than that amount fit, in just showing that we can't argue we don't have players for it
Scowen was awful too though, nothing about his performance would have him playing ahead of brad abbott
Thought he was absolutely dreadful first half and improved no end second half. Scowen has previous games to base your selection on. Digby only really has Blackpool away three years ago. Poor comparison really.
The problem is that scowen has been aweful all season so yes he has previous games and those games really suggest he isn't good enough. For me scowen is playing to protect Pearson who isn't strong enough and Pearson is playing to protect scowen for the same reason. If we had one player good enough to do the role we could play another winger instead of playing one out of 2 or could play 2 up front. sadly we are compromising attacking options to make up for having two sub par players who need help to do their jobs. Pearson and scowen are both good squad members but neither are good enough to do the job in the first 11 as a sole defensive midfielder and it has been our big problem all season
Is harris dead? Wabara? Scowen? Jackson? We have plenty of options we just don't bother utilising them because in coaching lesson 7 only stupid formations were taught to the managerial clones of today
