If he's lost the dressing room which in my very unexperted opinion he has ,then I'm afraid it is inevitable what the boards decision will be
My point was that previous managers would have been sacked after 5 straight defeats and I'm hoping the board have learn't something this time around. I don't know if Johnson is a good manager or will turn out to be so. I'm not his biggest fan, I think he's making many mistakes, although I think he's going through some rotten luck at the moment. It's not his fault that Winnall has just missed a penalty for example. I just don't believe the answer to our problems is to sack another manager. I believe our problems are far bigger than that. If it was up to me Danny Wilson would still be in charge and I have no doubt in my mind we would be performing much, much better. Having said that, I wouldn't have sacked Flicker either.
I agree with you 100% regarding Danny Wilson. Will we have paid Danny's contract up or will he still be getting paid by us until it runs out ?
I wasn't Wilsons greatest fan in his second spell I would have been quite happy for him to last the season. But the football was dire away results were terrible and his interviews were ********, but this is a whole new level. Flicker should have never gone though imo
i cant see how anyone thinks we would be performing much much better under wilson because from where i was sat we were sh!te and danny never looked like changing anything a game had to offer. hill, flicker and robins for me were all better than what we have now,i was and still am , baffled at lee johnsons appointment, especially after watching Oldham just prior to him coming to oakwell. i honestly cant see him lasting much longer, unless there is a sudden upturn in results, but if they do sack him who the chuff are they going to replace him with? i dont trust the board in picking a manager and even if there was a decent candidate i cant see them wanting to come to oakwell, not with our track record of sacking managers every verse end. its the most depressing time i've ever had at oakwell and i see the fourth division coming if we arnt carefull.
Our policy of sacking managers has come to haunt us , flicker was always going to make mistakes as a rookie manager . He proved he could get players to play for him and give that bit extra ie the great escape . IMO that was a time that the board should have come out early on and with all guns blazing stated he was the man and they were sticking with him come what may and sent a verbal message to fans and players alike. However that is all with hindsight .
Agree with that 100% flicker could always get the best out of players we should have kept with him and give him chance to take us back up easy to say now I know
The board had a plan, young team young manager, resale value for young players, no players on big contacts, no older players who can't be sold on, full use of loan system no risk of being stuck with a player who they don't want. Unfortunately the plan failed. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Shame that those on here who agitated for Wilson to go don't have the integrity or strength of character to hold up their hands and say we were wrong but I guess the constant whinging highlights a weakness in character. Anyone who doesn't think we are worse off for the sack sack sack policy is just strange.
We we absolutely right to sack Wilson, Not sure we replaced him with the best option. 100% Wilson had to go.
Wilson is gone, nothing you can do about it, he's not coming back, get over it. Right in the here and now we are ****, and it's got nothing to do with us sacking Wilson. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I will hold my hand up! Wilson was utter Carp and deserved to go. Lee Jay is utter Carp and has to go Mansford is well let's put it this way, what has he done? New TV, s nar sod it get rid as well
No he couldnt, he was good at chest thumping, but when that failed he could not get them up for a battle, see the start of the season after. It was a short term fix, I am glad he is at Bury , I am glad I never have to listen to his interviews and I am fecking glad he has left Oakwell, but I know its only my opinion and it counts for bugger all.
