Did you see something in him in the few minutes you watched him that qualified coaches who spent several hours working with him each day didn't???
He's scored 1 goal in 15 appearances for Hartlepool

 

Why? Because Lee Johnson gave him a chance in one game at the end of the season and he took it with both hands.
If Johnson had decided he was releasing him then playing him was completely pointless, if he hadn't decided to release him and it was his one chance to prove himself then to decide based on that chance that he wasn't good enough was bizarre.

His goal vs Spurs is the best I've ever seen at Oakwell. Flicker gave him a run in the team in the championship and he did fantastic for his age bagging late goals against Ipswich and Burnley. Always made a positive impact off the bench and gave defenders like Shittu a torrid time. While on loan at Bury the following season he was scoring week in week out and they absolutely loved him. We recalled him for the last few games of the season and he did well again. At Boro he was literally throwing himself at the ball to try and save us and a week later he played decent linking up well with COG. A week before last season he scored from a Hourihane free-kick against Sheff Wed and was looking promising. The 1st game of the season he was put upfront with Winnall which was never going to work against big physical league 1 centre halves.

I'd certainly much rather have Rose than Wilkinson,Jackson,Lita,Hemmings or Maris.

 

Wrong rose was let go way too early a 18 year old never given time to mature or given a run in the team. Would have been better option last season to bring on as a sub than hemmings or lita and wanted to wear the shirt.
