3 lots with their parents 'chaperoning' them and waiting at the gate for their safe return.

All-Hallows Eve - the evening before All Saints is the time to remember the Dead, Saints and Martyrs -- not sure what that has to do with trick or treating. (With apologies for bringing a bit of gravitas to this site)

Weird this year. Last year we never sat down for a solid 3 hours. Everyone in the village seems to pile onto our estate.

This year wasn't no where near.

Got to pull you up on that JD. You tried to tell me Headingley wasn't a student area not so long back.

There's no way that I would ever say that Headingley wasn't a student area! My street strangely has quite a lot of permanent residents on it but they are all really old so no kids there either. Also, I'm not strictly in Headingley, I'm right on the border but I'm actually in Burley, so there :p

You did. It was about the cricket having to finish by a certain time and I commented that it must be so all the students can listen to their Levellers cds in peace. You argued and said there weren't that many students in the area.

I used to live in a maisonette on Burley Road. The shops just on the left at the end of St Anns Lane.

I said that on my street there aren't many students. I know that's a bit against what I said above but I class my area as student-y (the whole of Burley/Headingely vicinity) but my street isn't particularly - which is rather odd as all the ones round about are.

    Found it: http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showth...dness-at-Headingley-tonight&highlight=madness

It turns out that I can't count though. It's actually been 6 years I've lived here, the 7 I mentioned in that thread must be because that's how long I have lived with the fella (different house first year though).

Bought loads of sweets, the wife bagged them up in lucky bags and put a marrow in the window with a light in it (we could not find a pumpkin). Result. Not one caller.

I must be as unpopular in Wombwell as I am on here.
