We'd just got 3 points away against the blunts with this side

    ------------Turnbull---------------
    Cranie--Ramage--Nyatanga--Dudgeon
    --------------Bailey-------------------
    ------Berry----------Hourihane------
    -------------Williams----------------
    -------Winnall------Cole----------

What I'd give to have that back 5 now. And I didnt even rate Dudgeon.

That was Wilsons last away win in the league for us.

Devante Cole, Berry and Ramage are the only ones I would want to see from that side... Jabo and Lalkovic thereafter

Williams never played another away game for Wilson. Winnall played just one at Chesterfield. Both succumbing to injury. Cole played two before returning to Man City. We lost our attack.

We won three away league games under Wilson blunts (winnall header from a set piece) rochdale (Ramage from a set piece) and crewe (can't remember how we scored) but we weren't winning from attacking flair away from home.

I went to two of those three games. There was actually a lot of attacking flair on show. Cole ripped Rochdale to pieces, eventually winning the penalty that we missed, while Winnall and Williams caused the blunts all sorts of bother.

I never said it was any better this season in fact it's worse far worse. I just didn't think last season was great either and stated a few facts.

Cranie got a rare goal with a header and lita scored a tap in i believe. Can remember having a discussion during that match about how good it was to finally get a striker that scored that type of easy/ugly goal. How fvcking wrong we were lol

I think this is why Johnson has to be cut some slack. There is no way on earth he is operating under the same budget let alone recruitment system. That team contains experienced Championship players. Just one or two of those in around the youngsters would IMO make a world of difference.

Bailey's the one I don't get. We always looked a better team with him in it.

    Probably a financial decision.

And 2 month's later Turnbull, Cranie, Ramage, Dudgeon, Williams, Cole & Winnall were all along with Bree either injured or gone back to their parent club.

Makes you realise just how tough we had it then compared to this season

Johnson hasn't had the opportunity to bring in big earners like turnbull lita and treacy nor if winnall got injured would he be able to bring in someone like Marcelo trotta as a replacement.

I get that and I have a degree of sympathy with the position that LJ is in however regardless of the players in the squad it is LJ who chooses a negative boring approach to games; he sets us up as if we're playing Barcelona rather than Shrewsbury or Crewe.

Totally agree Mario, although the same happened under Wilson when we played away at games I went to donny, Chesterfield ect only difference is Wilson never got the chance to put right his wrong doing. Lee Jay is getting plenty of chance and taking non of them.
