    Mawson, Roberts, Pearson, Harris, Wilkinson, Townsend, Watkins, Smith are all players Johnson raved about & claimed that nearly all had championship clubs in for them

    They all have potential certainly. Look I'm not criticising Wilson. He should not have been sacked. But you only have to look at that starting line up to see things have changed. Would Wilson be doing better with this squad? Possibly so. Is Johnson getting the best out of this squad? Possibly not. But a direct comparison of last season and this isn't fair IMHO. The goalposts have moved. Not least in job titles.

    Yeah, no doubt about it, we have a far inferior team than that now. In fact the only players I would have from the current side would be Pearson and Scowen in place of Bailey and Berry.

    So it's hardly surprising where we find ourselves, especially when you consider that we weren't exactly flying last season either.

    IMHO they're not the right questions. I'd ask, would Wilson have rid the squad of Bailey, Berry, Lalkovic and Oates? Would he have attempted to re-sign Cranie and Ramage? Would he be making more use of Bree and other kids that are ours, rather than spending money on other teams' kids?

    Could we have had a similar team to last season with all that experience, with just a few signings to improve things, rather than the 15 signings we've made this season that surely must have cost us more money?

    We needed a full back, a centre half if neither Ramage nor Cranie would sign, a winger and a forward to partner Winnall. Plus one young up and coming attacking player on loan, like Cole last season. We've brought in 15. It's ridiculous.

    Where have I said that? Smith and Wilkinson are worse than those two.

    I agree. I think the answer lies in the fact he isn't in the job anymore

    Which leads us back to two things;

    1. The current "manager" is not getting enough out if what he has. Or perhaps he is and what he has is utter gash.
    2. The strategy chosen by the "board" is fatally flawed and in fact involves too many people that don't have a clue about football.

    Agreed. Only changes i'd probably make to our squad this season is Davies and Watkins in for Turnbull and Berry.
