The loans and the subsequent policy of a reliance on young inexperienced kids was in place well before the Stones transfer saga started. Mr Cryne stated in a previous fans meeting that he didn't think Stones would be sold during the last transfer window meaning if it's true what he said tonight he based the transfer policy of the club on something he didn't expect to happen. So the excuse is either ******** or the management of the club are incompetent beyond belief. Either way I really do despair at the situation the club is in.
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla I don't understand it one minute we had agreed a fee with Blackburn for jos with the Holgate money but rovers pulled out. Now we're skint cos stones didn't go. Maybe I'm thinking into it too much but don't add up.
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla So the excuse is either ******** or the management of the club are incompetent beyond belief. At a guess I'd say both. They're making it up as they go along....
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla Smoke and Mirrors once again are the order of the day!
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla Worth saying LJ was saying there was two budgets dependent on Stones transfer. It's best not to interpret what may have been said the wrong way.
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla i wasn't at the session tonight. actually i didn't even know it was happening! but i was at the redfearn's session, and PC said when asked about the stones move, that he didn't have a view on him, because he isn't our player. so if he's said transfer budget was based on the stones move, then that makes no sense to me whatsoever. like i say though, i wasn't in the room, so i don't know first hand what was said or the context..
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla Harvey Nicks or Primark? Poundstretcher is more like it
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla I just wanted to be clear I've not said anything tonight about Cryne discussing the stones deal as far as I can tell
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla Johnson said that. Cryne said nothing on the Stones issue
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla Isn't that why these propaganda meetings are utterly pointless? We have had one where the message coming from it was so confused that people were questioning the openness of Patrick cryne and nownone which has had a Chinese whisper come out of it that has united the entire fan base against the running of the club on the issue of finances. I've not seen one single reason why these meetings can't be streamed live so ALL fans can hear what is being said. Well I can think of a couple of reasons why not but they are pathetic reasons
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla Presumably though pAtrick cryne corrected Lee if he made an incorrect statement regarding the clubs finances in front of him?
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla No. Cryne said nothing on the Stones/money/spending issue. The first thing he said was following that when he was asked if changes were imminent based on previous experience of managers appearing to fail and getting the bullet. That is when he said (not word for word but 90% the same) .... "I see no immediate changes because I'm totally confused about what the fans really want. Some want me out, some want Ben out, some want Lee out and some want Maurice out. The truth is out of the 3 of us here tonight I will probably be the first to go because I'm totally fed up with it all and clearly I have failed during my tenure. As for Ben, I really don't get why he is getting so much stick because he is the best we have ever had in that job. I want to be a fan again just like you lot so that I can slag everybody off who is running the club!" Then he went on about Maurice Watkins being verbally abused recently on a train, very much in the same way that his son and daughter were last season.
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla At the base of it all what the fans want is to win matches and perhaps be entertained once or twice in a season.
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla I think the fans have seen 10 or so years of the club in a slow reverse and so are looking at why that may be so. They are asking just what have Mansford, Watkins brought to the party, not to mention Taylor. They can see how much of a fan Mr Cryne is and how much money he has spent. They can also see that we are now 2nd bottom of the 3rd Division, and how when things weren't as bad as they have been, that previous managers have had to go. I think it's the fans that have a right to be confused, not Mr Cryne. The 'slagging off' has come after relegation, false starts under Hill, Flitcroft, Wilson. Again, I would contend that most of us in reality have been extremely patient with things.
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla Maybe Ronald Villiers (Widecombe and Pump) is our accountant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz-U4guPYXM
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla "Smoke and mirrors" would imply some sort of planning or deception. You're giving them too much credit.
Re: Just a couple of problems with Mr Cryne saying the Stones non transfer is to bla The fans want a good football team & the team of people you have put around that team have failed to deliver it for various reasons. Pretty simple, really. Ben is getting stick because we've seen a rapid decline under his tenure, fair or not.
I've no doubt that Patrick's a good man & personal abuse isn't fair but when they were setting up this strategy of signing a bunch of kids with little experience to get us out of league one & most of them joined without having a proper pre-season did anyone think 'hang on a minute, this is idiotic & no ones ever been stupid enough to try it'. Because from where I'm looking it's about the stupidest decision I've seen my club make. I still can't get my head round them appointing Lee Johnson to go with this strategy of developing young players. He'd had about 18 months experience at Oldham & had no track record for bringing through young players. Why didn't they appoint a manager with experience who has a proven record of developing young players? I don't get why no one at the club couldn't see what they were doing was stupid. I know lads who spend most Saturday's off their tits on booze & drugs who could see what the club was doing wasn't going to work. It makes me wonder again, who on that board actually understands football & not business. We've got a lawyer, an agent & a man who made his fortune on I.T. They need a football man in there
