https://twitter.com/htafcdotcom/status/661853016841064448 Chris Powell has left his role as #htafc Manager with immediate effect after his contract was ended; statement to follow shortly (DTS)
I agree. Did a first class job at our level for Charlton & was doing ok at Huddersfield in a very tough league. Utterly amazed they've sacked him.
Entertainment factor also key in decision. Perceived conservative footballing style of CP a big factor, want new style #htafc #ypfootball Sent from my SM-G800F using Forum Runner
Town believe they are in entertainment business and want to bring X-factor back to club #htafc #ypfootball Sent from my SM-G800F using Forum Runner
Ahhh, so Dean Hoyle now wants the x-factor eh, exciting football? Right. So he's sold his best players from under Powell, and because they're not exciting to watch anymore, it's Powell's fault? I'd have Powell here in a heartbeat.
I remember his final season at Charlton. He brought in just 2 players in his summer transfer window. The BBS would be in meltdown over that. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Sack a Manager who had his two best players taken off him for in the region of £8 million, at the end of the transfer window. Reckon it might be Mr. Hoyle wants to sell up as well.

He's not Ranieri or Keegan. But it's harsh of folk to call him negative or conservative. Built a good side there on no money last season, then had it all sold from under him this summer.
That's their board, who sold all of their exciting players for close to £10m and signed just Dempsey for money, as well as charging £35 to get in. But aye, blame Powell who looked likely to keep them up again, another mid table finish.
That's how I see it. 2 million for Smithies and 5 million for your pal Buttercup for a start. Hoyle saying the 2 million will be invested in january but that remains to be seen. The 5 million the balance the books excuse comes out. 2-3 of his best players sold from under him and no time in the transfer window to replace them, so reliant on loans like past managers such as Bobins and Grayson had to be. Dunno what the owner expects.
