I've defended him, blindly. But there comes a tipping point and today mine arrived the second I saw Wilkinson stripped and ready to come on. To keep giving that ******* wally a chance over the likes of Jackson and White, well I can't stomach that. Nor seeing Mawson in midfield and Winnall out on the wing. That was as bad a performance as I'm ever likely to see against a struggling non league side who haven't won in weeks. They were abysmal, Altrincham, but we were worse. It was embarrassing.
Been saying for weeks it's time for him to go, out of his depth and tactically clueless. Not got a leader on the pitch and got no direction from off the pitch.
That post would have meant summat if posted when Wilko came on. That would have given LJ the right to be proved correct or not. It's hindsight now.
I agree, we should be getting more from these players. Winnall wing, Mawson holding mid, Maris behind strikers didn't work, looked out of balance and created little. For me he seems to tinker to fit players in not to set up to win. Let's play 2 centre halves in their rightful position. Winal as a centre forward with Jackson behind. Watkins is better wide. Pearson, Hourihane and Scowan in midfield. Would like to have seen White get on and bree for Wabara. I'm sorry but I can't see what LJ will do to change this as I've been worried there has been a lot of panic decisions started at Donnie away and showing up in every game since. I suspect we will sign short term contracts for older players to appease the lack of experience problem, not because they are the answer.
You need to dig up your name and shame poll that you did a few weeks ago, then you can thank us all for having the sense to see that LJ has pulled Patricks pants down big style.
I totally agree with all three of those comments regarding the players, but I'm hanging in there a bit longer with LJ.
You mean, the poll created by someone else? The same poll that that someone else made a public poll? I've nothing to thank anyone for. I'm not apologising for backing someone. But I won't also stick rigidly to that opinion when everything is pointing to me being wrong.
Good point, that. You've convinced me that it's a bad thing to change one's opinion over time as more evidence comes to light - I've therefore just made up my mind that our next manager should be sacked immediately. And the one after that. The one after that should stay though.
I'm sad to say I see no alternative. I really wanted him to succeed, but I have no confidence he can fashion a side to win games. There is a core of decent players who need to be augmented by at least 5 players who have the experience of playing football at this level. Players who can play the game ugly if necessary, who walk off covered in sweat, blood and snot. This is now a relegation battle and nobody should be under any illusions about that. Above all we need a manager who has the know how to deal with this situation and quickly.
I'm sorry then. I'm in the foulest of moods if I'm honest. It's beer o'clock though so I'll be reight.
Thank you. And if Wilkinson's shot had ended up in the net you would not have posted such as you did after the match. (Not that it would have)
