i agree. People find it too easy to suggest that because he's got plenty of money, he should put more into the club. Why should he?
It's his money, to do what he likes with. Presumably, his priority is like most of us, providing for his family.

People also forget that he isn't Abramovic, or Chansiri. He didn't go out looking to buy a football club. He's also not Mandaric, wanting to make a fast buck selling a club.

I'm not saying there haven't been mistakes, but as a few other people have pointed out football management is not an exact science. Even teams with strong infrastructures, and multi billion pound backers can struggle - look at where Chelsea are just now.

I feel for Cryne. He has, if I've understood correctly gifted several million pounds to the club over the past few years. And then people on social media slate him. I'm pretty sure he's not deliberately getting it wrong.

Ive not seen anywhere the word sell.... There's no one to buy. What is happening is PC is walking away and trying to leave it in the best state he can. IE the current policy of recruiting young players to sell on.. so the club can be run without a sugardaddy

He has made mistakes and he knows that ultimately the buck stops with him. He may not have the desire to sort it out and is ready for a quieter life. For me he makes far too many statements - he pays Mansford a good wage I expect and he should leave the statements to him. Would much prefer him to be a silent owner, giving responsibility to people who know what they're doing to run the club. Mansford is young and inexperienced, so is Johnson and so are most of the players. Therein lies the problem. He hasn't got anyone in with real experience of running a football club and managing a team at this level...

You might be right mate but I'd be surprised if he didn't want some of his investment back

No idea if you're right, but that's very similar to the situation that I imagine, although I don't know who is and isn't involved and I do believe Johnson will be identifying players too, who will be discussed with the others, rather than simply giving a yay or nay to those suggested. I don't believe he's outside the loop, I just don't think he's solely responsible. That's not to say such a system can't work, but it clearly isn't for us at the moment, if that is what we're doing.

If he's identified every player himself and board members simply negotiate the deal, write cheques and draw up contracts, I'm very surprised he's still in a job. That's nothing to do with what has been, in my opinion, the board's previous lack of patience as I think the Altrincham result would have done for the vast majority of managers at professional clubs in this country, coming on top of such a poor run in the league. I think our recruitment has been a collective effort and therefore they are, rightly, shouldering some of the blame.

All supposition of course, but if they want us to stop doing that then give us straight answers to straight questions. I can listen to people at the club for hours and end up non-the-wiser on most issues. Maybe that's me, not the sharpest knife in the drawer and all that, but there appears to be plenty more in the same boat.

From what I believe that may be his parting present to the club.

I don't think he should put any in. I don't think he should have put any in after he bought it, other than what was needed to keep the club going until contracts ended. That's not a reason for him to go, it's his money and he can do what he likes, but relying on Mr Cryne's generosity was never a policy I was comfortable with or a strategy that I thought was the best way to achieve success. I've always wanted us to just spend what we earn.

From what I can remember, PC has said he would sell for £1 million, and receive a further £5million if the club gets into the Prem.

He's also said he would give it to the fans and that he would like to pass it over to his son. You're allowed to change your mind of course, and as such, I don't think we can rely on the information that you've outlined above.

    Neither do I.

I'm not even sure all that many many people feel he should.

    The above is correct.

Patrick says ..."The fans want me to go immediately."

Not true; I'm unsure on what Patrick bases this view, which I reckon is incorrect.

I for one don't want him to leave the club. I hope he doesn't make any decision to relinquish control based on the views of a very small yet vocal minority.

I don't want Cryne to go.

If he wants to of his own volition, or there's someone else whom he feels can do a better job than he, fair enough.

Personally, though, I am not (as a sole fan with no agenda other than wanting us to do well) wanting, encouraging, agitating for, or demanding him to leave.

"Reight Lee, 10 minutes before the end of the game on Tuesday I'll have a car ticking over at the players entrance, when I shout NOW! Run like **** and we will be up Pontefract road before anyone notices". :)

How much worse can things get? Since losing 16 seasons ago to Ipswich Town in the play off final we've had two good seasons. 2005 promotion and 2008 FA Cup run. 14 seasons of average at best. Obviously he wasn't involved for some of those seasons but I don't see how things can get worse than the worst team i've ever seen for us.
