It is disappointing that Patrick Cryne appears to have taken the message from this Board that all of the fans want him to leave. This is simply not true and it is very disappointing if he is taking what is posted on here as indicative of the majority view.

It is also very disappointing that people on here are lining up to say that they are not going to matches unless this happens or that happens - sack the manager - sack the Board for example. This is the time when the team is sorely in need of our encouragement and support.

People should be careful what they wish for.

Yeah, seems to have taken a mistaken view in my opinion. Most people just want the club run better, and to try and get a handle on who scouts and decides which players to sign. Ah well.

If patrick cryne is making this decision because he believe's a few poster's on the bbs speak for the whole fan base then i would question his sanity.

I agree with you, why don't we have a vote on it?

Cryne reminds me of a mate of mine I've known for 40+ years he's always been a maungy sod , gets monk on at drop of a hat and if he's not constantly having his ego massaged he throws the toys out the pram then reappears a few weeks later as if nowts happened

I agree to the point that there should certainly be no personal animosity towards Patrick Cryne given the role he played at a critical stage in the club's revival. On the other hand, you can't hide the fact that his tenure since he bought in has been marked by a gradual decline in the club's fortunes. The quality of the playing staff has been in decline since the disastrous appointment of Keith Hill, and the decision to go cheap. We sacked Ritchie and forced Robins out way too soon, in my opinion. If the decision to rehire Danny had been properly thought through, someone should have first asked whether we continued to have the infrastructure (particularly on the scouting side) to allow him to succeed again. I have no strong views regarding whether Mr Cryne stays or goes, but I do know his current strategy is failing at several levels in the club.

As for the decision whether to go on Saturday or not, I simply think that people will ask themselves what they are likely to see in the absence of any change. If the judgement is that there will again be little or no entertainment on offer, then they may feel that there are other things to do on a Saturday afternoon. I haven't decided yet, but the club have my ST money in any event. If LJ is still in situ (and God knows what tomorrow night will bring) then I'd be looking for them to somehow offer a change of personnel (i.e. Hugo or Hammill). If there's no change there either, then the attraction of Saturday's fixture will be limited.

To be honest, that's never been my impression of him. He's only come into the spotlight in fairly recent times, because people asked him to be. He comes across to me as a very quiet, private man. I imagine he would be happy to never even hear his name mentioned. The only things I've heard him vehemently defend, are when his kids have been dragged into it, or what he believes are lies. Whether they are or aren't lies, I dunno. But that's how he sees it. And I defy anyone who wouldn't defend their kids. Thing is though, more than anybody else, he wants out. People are trying to paint him as some kind of megalomaniac, trying to clutch onto his power. That just isn't the man I've seen speak. My real worry is he will finally bow to fan pressure, and hand the club over to the wrong people. I imagine he would then be demonised by the very same people, for fcukin our club up

Most folk just want to be entertained and win the odd match, they don't give a rats about all the other nonsense.

Yeah but when things don't go well then folk start to ask questions.

I may be missing something but I haven't seen or heard many calls for Cryne to go - people just want things to be better.

Me neither. I'd personally like him to stay.

Tis the manager that needs to go, clueless.

There isn't any fan pressure for him to go , if you had chanting at games for him to go , banners going up saying Cryne Out , that's pressure. He doesn't have to cling onto anything , he owns the whole shebang .

I don't know PC but his recent statements seem to indicate he's made a fairly large-scale misinterpretation of the situation. There are three pressing things that need to change for mine:-

    1) Sack the 'Clueless one';
    2) Revert to a recruitment strategy that allows a blend of experience, youth and players in their prime; and
    3) Stop the spin and misinformation (eg the Stones budget) leaked via cliques. The club should communicate to us all without the smoke and mirrors.

If PC does the necessary to change these, he'll actually go up not down in my estimation.

Well, we have to accept that the results and entertainment value aren't there, and it's been that way for a while.

So, rather fire another manager at the first threat of falling ticket sales, PC needs to stand firm and back his judgement. If he feels that he has made the wrong choice (yet again), I don't know where we go from here...

Didn't he used to go on the pitch at the end of the season to present the player of the year to rapturous applause?
