Doesn't it pretty much say that the situation is pretty drastic right now, but please continue the fantastic support the players are currently getting to help get some points on the board. In the meantime the trust are looking to speak to the club in regards to the questions currently being asked by its members. Of which a variety have been sent through in response to the statement release and e-mail that went out. Think you're being a touch unfair.
I wasn't intending to be - my only point was that it didn't seem to have any real message other than 'get behind them'. That surprised me more than anything, especially when there's been public messages from the owner that he's looking to relinquish his role as soon as - I assumed the statement would be in response to that.
When reading the statement, it seemed to be getting somewhere, the first paragraph or so. Then finished on 'get behind em, blah blah blah' as if the person writing it had thought better of upsetting the apple cart. I gather from reading this thread though that that wasn't the case. So fair do's.
what more exactly can we as fans do though when our support has already been described as phenomenal ? there comes a time when these 'big' men at the club have got to stand up and be counted, and just allowing things to carry on like this is totally unacceptable.
We thought it difficult to comment on that based on the 200 word Facebook update, and just wanted to make members aware that we're looking to urgently speak with the club. It wasn't a case of not wanting to upset the apple cart at all. And the the request for fans to continue supporting the team on the pitch was aimed at the threat of dwindling attendances and that just securing points at the moment is really important. The follow up statement to this was deemed more important. This was more to let members, of which the majority aren't on the BBS or Twitter, know that we want to speak to the club about the situation and encouraged their input (as well as non members) in to what they feel they need answers to. We were never going to please everyone. But general feedback has been positive
I get the point of the statement. It isn't intended to actually really say much at all, its more of a precursor to a proper statement. Just a quick update to say 'calm darn lads we are actually doing something and we'll get you more info as soon as we get it ourselves'. The only change I would have made would have been a couple of references to what you're actually wanting to talk to the club about because it could be assumed that you are only concerned about the results while your members are thinking you are ignoring the cryne situation or the loan situation. In fact I think that's actually what's happened in this thread. Anyway nowt wrong with the statement now go and put together a takeover plan.
The club is in a reasonable financial state so the only issues must be the team. But we have heard the plans to turn things around. I'm struggling to understand what answers are being looked for. Not like they can guarantee points or goals.
You're probably right, and with all statements you're not likely to ever get it 100% right due to the nature of football fans nearly always having different views. That's even more the case right now. We didn't want to waffle on for paragraph after paragraph, highlight any opinions that might not be fully shared by a significant number of members or that members are even aware of, but could probably have included examples. Wrongly assumed that people would think speaking to the club about the plan to end current results was linked to the strategy. Thankfully the questions coming in from members address all points so far raised in this thread, so mission accomplished on that front.
For the last five weeks I've spent time and money watching dross! And it wasn't much better for the five weeks before that either. Now the Supporters Trust suggest the current lack of form is temporary and we should 'get behind the team.' Can anyone on the Supporters Trust tell me why I 'should get behind the team' - why I should spend time and money on what is, at present. crap?
The last thing we want is a Blackpool situation. That won't help at all. I think the Trust are trying to prevent that.
I think the obvious answer from the supporters trust is because you're a supporter. Although I have to say if I didn't have a ST I'd not be paying the matchday prices. A reduction in price during this difficult time would be best IMO. £15 for the rest of 2015.
The only reason I am going on Satdi is because I have already paid. Wild horses couldn't drag me there tomorrow.
Interesting, this 'get behind the team' thing. I've never been one to make much noise at a match. I'd sooner watch in a fairly studious fashion. Although to be fair, I don't boo either if things aren't going well. Happen the Trust folk should lead the singing/cheering? (Unless they're quiet sorts as well, of course).
