Engineers who need to come to your house or deliveries with massive ETAs - "we'll be there between 0700 and 1800 hours". Great cheers. Thanks so much for that. I'll just not plan anything for an entire day.

Agreed on TV subscriptions, that's why I don't have any (unless you call a TV licence a subscription). I've commented elsewhere in the thread about mobile phone contracts, one of the biggest rip offs ever.

I wonder what would happen if the entire population of the world breathed in at the same time?

    Postage fees

Buy something online. Get to checkout. Postage = £4.00

Parcel is as light as a feather, and lo and behold it cost 60p to post.

Me too - though I was wondering about upgrading to a new one - have to laugh though if I go with Vodafone contract cost for a new iphone 6s on a package identical to my sim only one = £41 per month for 24 months + £169 = total over 2 years = £1153

    or I could buy a new iphone 6s 64Gb for £699 official price - (though I have seen them online at £580) +264 = £963 over 2 years
As I am certain vodafone wont pay £699 per phone they are really are ripping you off big time with the buying a phone under contract pricing. If I replace mine I will just buy a phone and stay sim only

Piriton - nearly a fiver a box when not many people seem to know that you can get exactly the same tablets in a Supermarket's own brand for about 80 pence

He's got his head round fish and chip prices now. His latest campaign is about vet bills. His dog is ridden with fleas.

The iPhone 6 is £450 to purchase SIM free. So, that compares favourably with the £350 you paid for yours. I saw the £54 contract in Three the other week, and I agree it is a rip off. Most Contracts are taking advantage of customers that are unable to purchase the phone upfront (that's not Apple's fault). :)

It's £100 more - before you start on network charges. I don't call that favourable.

Samsung a3 £256 all in over 24 months. I'm sure it's not as all singing and dancing as an i phone, but I'm £200 better off.

Since it's only £30 / year over the three years, I don't see that as prohibitive. Also, I will get £140 for my iPhone when I trade it in.

Not that I'm trying to convince myself it's a good deal. ;)

The £50+ is outrageous, and I couldn't begin to justify that.

Talking of phones, if you want something good that doesn't cost the earth, take a look at https://oneplus.net/uk/one for sim only, and then signup for giffgaff. The phone is as good as any Samsung / Iphone (IMHO), though I haven't checked the specs it's a cracking phone. It's Android so you know what you can/can't do, and finally doesn't come with a load of bloatware pre-installed like my last Samsung did.

Main point, it's a fraction of the price of a none contract "fasionable" phone.
