That's what happens when you mess about, have him up against two and three centre halves, playing as a winger, not giving him any service, then drop him and finally play a system which would have suited him. You wally, Lee.
"We will go through some video clips because I think there are a few technical things to work on. He's working too hard, moving into the ball too quickly and not rotating his head enough." Chuffin 'ell. It's a complicated game this football malarkey. Here's me thinking that working hard was a pre-requisite for any professional and it's all about slowing down a bit. Think I might start watching chess.
He's not wrong, Winnall hasn't been great this season and imo Jackson & Toney should be up front again tomorrow with Winnall coming on earlier. What is Winnall best played at? He can't play up front on his own cause he can't win many headers, he can't play a role where he runs onto through balls cause he has no pace so whats best for him? Playing a poacher role where he just stays in the box getting onto the loose balls. His injury against Scunny last season has set him back in pace and work rate
Completely disagree. The rest of the strikers (a lot) picked by Johnson this season have a total of ONE GOAL between them. But aye, let's start knocking our top scorer and fan favourite. Worked a treat with Hourihane who we didn't miss one bit whilst injured. Here's a stat for you - BFC have lost every game that Hourihane hasn't started in, since he joined us in 2014.
Where the **** did we get this clown from, was it because he was cheap? We hire a manager with no previous history of success at any level. There's a saying - you get what you pay for, and we surely got the booby prize.
Makes complete sense to me, the more he rotates his head the more he can see where the passes are going and he can make the right run at the right time. By not doing that, he is pretty much guessing the space he should run into and therefore the passes aren't finding him. For a goalscorer, that has to be an essential quality. He's my favourite player but that doesn't mean he should be excluded from criticism, just remember the advice LJ gave Hourihane and how much he has improved as a result. I'm in the LJ out camp aswell so I'm not defending him.
All football managers are at it, If you listen to some of their interviews its just **** fed to an overzealous media. If you read the interview he first says he's been working too hard then later says hell get through it with hard work. Gave over reading owt into managers sh it years ago.Danby Wilson was same so was hill and flicker
I'd much prefer Johnson to come out and be honest and say he's tucked him about playing everywhere bar in the box. Where he ******* should be.
Jackson isn't as big a name as Wilkinson and winnall is ****. You crack on Lee. You're doing a fantastic job
I understand what he's saying, but it's over technical rubbish from the manager IMO. The problem with Winnall is how he's been asked to play. As soon as we go 2 up top he's dropped, bit of a bum deal that. Confidence ruined, not finding his form. I'll bet if he can get a run of games with a partner he'll be back to 'rotating his head' without doing anything different.
