Didn't realise the BBC paid Wogan over £10,000 for his Seven hour stint on the programme, in addition to the £800,000 he earns per year for his Radio 2 show. With the BBC wasting money like this on so called celebrities, it is not surprising that some are calling for the BBC to lose its funding.

It's an obscenity of life what so called "celebrities" get for what is not much more than prattling on the radio or television.

I used to like Wogan, many years ago, but he is just a parody of himself now and is just a bit too self-satisfied for his own good.

He's not alone though - they all love the sound of their own voices and, when I am listening to the radio I find that I am turning the volume right down in between music tracks. Listening to the likes of Chris Evans and Sara Cox is just excrutiating.

By the way, if Wogan gets that much how much is Evans stealing? As I said, an obscenity. These people are not actors or musicians. They have no "talent" to entertain. They just talk. That's it. And they get a fortune for it.

    The world is mad.

Of course, the BBS pays much less than the commercial stations, so if the BBC were to lose it's funding then these so called celebs would be earning much more on Sky or ITV etc.

Makes your argument seem a but daft really.

That one goal Connor Wilkinson has scored. Wonder how much that one goal has cost us?

Don't watch it. Don't participate - never have.

Gave £20 to Live Aid back in the 80s and I regretted it as soon as I had done it. Wonder how many landmines my contribution bought for the revolutionaries?

Aye. And it's not now give what you can

They are all at it. Give just 3 4 or 5. Give it another year it will be 10 15 etc.

I/we can't give to everybody ffs.

Starbucks/google/amazon. Pay their share then we won't need pissing about with welfare reductions and the rest will easily cover what is raised tonight.

Then we can go back to giving what we can.

    Rant done.

    Tax dodging ****er's.

    Yeah been a **** day :)
