SPAIN so this is how johnson wants us to play

No chance with league 1 players, these internationals can do it because of skill level ,but we was always going to struggle trying this way of playing

 

This is the problem. Johnson sets us up as if we're playing Barcelona and thinks we've got Xavi and co in the team.

 

We didn't play that way on Tuesday. We played 4-4-2, got it wide and the wingers crossed it in to the box. For the first time this season we had two decent wingers, so we played to our strengths.

 

I hope he does the same tomorrow.

I keep hearing that Johnson wants us to play like Barca / Spain but I've not seen anything from him that suggests it's true.

We don't play passes that stretch teams, our players don't switch positions & pull defenders out of position, we don't play at a high tempo.

In fact the only thing we've got in common with Spain / Barca is the first couple of passes are from defender to defender but that's where the comparison ends
