Poll...Patrick Cryne, in or out?

92% want PC to stay.

75% want Johnson out.

Clear as day.

 

Out, for many reasons

But overwhelmingly, as I was told some time ago by someone who'd know, "the club will never achieve stability with [him] in charge."

 

I just hope something of a positive nature happens within the next week to try and breathe life into this shocker of a season.

if patrick went and wasnt replaced by a backer with some serious financial clout its doubtful we would even have a club left to moan about

If a local businessman is prepared to put £700,000 in sponsorship into the club without as much as a thank you from the owner, then given the opportunity, let's see what a new broom can bring. Where did this rumour that without Patrick we'd be sunk come from? Ben? Im sorry but it's time to step aside and let someone else have a go.

 

In - but only because I'm not brave enough to vote out.

The club has been stagnating for the duration of his ownership, leading to the shambles that we have now.

There's also the whispers about his character and methods and so on - to be fair it's his club, he who pays the piper calls the tune, but consecutive managers have said some strange things.y

But what's the alternative? I'd sooner a poorly ran club to no club at all

I can see what the long term plan is with young players and how he'd like to develop them into saleable assets to help the club be self sufficient aftr he is gone.

I can see that he does make mistakes and will try and rectify these.

The problem I have is that no one seems to say whoo pat lets just reign thst idea in a bit snd develop it properly.

The lies half truths mis direction and spin needs to stop.

I cant solely blame him for appointing johnson. We all caught the whiff of his *****.

It's not a case of whether or not we could survive without Patrick Cryne's money. We can. Other clubs can, so we can. We get bigger attendances than most, a bigger income, so not only can we survive, we should also prosper in this league. But when people say he should go, what are they expecting to happen? Should he just walk away and give the club to someone, losing all the money he has ever put in? To who? Who gets it? A manager or a CEO or a director can step aside, but an owner can't. We need a viable alternative and I haven't heard a suggestion of who that should be or how that will happen.

The exit strategy Mr Cryne spoke of, my guess is he's passing it on to his son.

That's actually the best suggestion I've heard.

In principle we'd probably drop to Lge 2 immediately - as we will this season anyway imo. But long term I think we need a new direction. Saturday I could just sense the feeling of decay and decline. And I'll stop there before we get into territory that may see letters from solicitors.

Again, I agree with you. It's the practicalities of the ownership transferring from one party to another that I can't get my head around. For a start, I don't know who this new owner would be. I've not heard any realistic suggestions. And then there's the matter of finance. Are we really expecting Mr Cryne to just give it away? Maybe he will, I dunno, but it's asking a chuffing lot that isn't it? Dear Mr Cryne, we think you're crap, please go and btw you've got to give us the club and the stadium for nowt.

Before I can say I want Mr Cryne out, I've got to have some idea about what or who would replace him and how that would happen.

Yes I agree on the mechanics of a new owner buying the club/assets etc. It certainly would be difficult for Mr Cryne to be able to sell to a new owner and then not be involved at all in the future.

I still can't see why anyone would buy a business that doesn't turn a profit, needs £2m of support underwriting annually and has no assets other than potential sale value of the playing staff.

In conclusion - I fully expect us to be in The Conference within 4 seasons.
