Can't see polls on Tapatalk. But I like him, he's improved no end this season barring the last couple of games. His performance on Saturday is as bad as I've ever seen from a Barnsley player but I like to think that was a one off. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
To quote Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr from the 19th Century, "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose"-"the more it changes, the more it's the same thing". I've seen the 'same thing' happen throughout the years with the likes of Phil Chambers, Ian Banks, Joe Joyce, Steve Agnew, Nicky Eaden to name just a few. Persistent criticism of a young lad starting out on his career, questioning the footballing knowledge of fellow supporters who don't also criticise, claims of "I'm entitled to my opinion, so I'll say what I want". Stick at it, young George. You'll be a better player & person for coming through this spell and I, for one, will continue to back you.
He's 19 and a decent prospect. He lacks a little composure when in the attacking 1/3 and has a lot of developing to do. It doesn't help that he has no competition for his place which may ultimately stunt his progress.
At the minute he's neither. He's an inexperienced young lad with potential. What will destroy him is playing week in week out for a ***** team along side tripe like Nyatanga and Mawson who will do nothing for his development.
League One level he's good. If we get relegated he will be excellent by league two standards. Compared to our best left footed players like Barnard and Thompson he's ****. But compared to our worst left sided players like Donovan, Gibbs and Kennedy he's brilliant.
Pretty much this ^^^^ I've seen young George have some very good games for us and some poor ones. Not surprising for a 19 year old. I even remember Mick McCarthy getting stick from those around me when he was playing his first games as a teenager for us. He isnt a world beater and will never be a Stones McCarthy or Banks but he is one of ours and definitely has a future in the football league W
Yup, agree with what you've said about Mick McCarthy. One of the comments spouted at every home match by a particular bloke near us during Mick's first season was "He's not bad, but he's no Mick Pickering!"
