If Stones had been sold to Chelsea for mega millions would we be in this mess? Would we have spent on the team or spent wisely.

And in the January window... If Stones is sold and we cash in. Would we spend cash wisely? Would we stick with LJ? Would it guarentee survival?

Six million quid should guarantee promotion and comfortable survival in the Championship, if used wisely. IF.

Wonder how much Sheff Utd have spent to be currently sitting in 8th in their 5th consecutive year in this division. Wolves went straight back up with their parachute payments and Man City did it via the play-offs, just, but both Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday struggled like ****. Wigan are currently 5th with an income that makes £6 million look like loose change. I don't think £6 million guarantees anything at all.

It's not such a huge sum of money that it could be thrown around willy nilly until success comes. However with wise usage it can go a very long way. The vast majority of teams who have gone up from League 1 in recent seasons haven't had anywhere near that sort of financial luxury with which to build their squads. By the way, I don't think Man City had any parachute payments as they were in what was Division 1 for two seasons before going down again. Having said that, they must have still had a lot more financial clout than the rest of the league. The very fact that Wolves and Wigan still had / have parachute payments in League 1 is an absolute farce in itself.

If Stones had have been sold, I think Patrick would have taken his 'loans' back and walked. Healthwise, running Barnsley FC can't be doing him any favors.

We could have all the money in the world but a poor manager and a bad set up above him will still hamper us.
