Absolutely no way will we go down, with or without Johnson look how many we've lost in a row and still we're a win off getting out of the relegation spots. No one is pulling away and nor will they. Don't let me interrupt you, though.
Reason being. Most of our loans are too young. So not got the muscle to stand up to the rigours of every day football. Then with have older loans who generally bar a few are past it. It's very rare we have successful loans. So why we keep bothering I don't know.
Amen. Look at that Mace Rigters. Ripping it up in the Dutch Sunday league and 25 stone. Reight laiker.
What this fact does is underline just how monumentally ***** this league is and our manager / head coach has achieved the unbelievable feat of taking us to 23rd in it.
Not saying it isn't all dire, but given we have been in the last few months worse than any of us could even imagine and yet we are only 3 points off safety still I just can't see where the just as bad teams around us are going to get the points from to pull too far ahead before we (inevitably) get back into gear, either by the sacking of johnson or 1 or 2 of our better players (hammill) getting us points on their own
Since the 1st of October we've lost 8 league games = 24 points and yet even despite that we are only 2 points off safety and even have a better GD than Blackpool so if despite losing out on 24 points in what is likely to be the worst period of our entire season the teams around us can only pull 2 points ahead and be no better off goal difference wise thats exactly what I'm saying. We don't have to be good we just have to be better than the teams around us, god knows we pulled off better survivals in the championship against far better teams. Really not sure why I'm trying to debate this with you since you've clearly made your mind up and are one of these folk that really enjoys getting to moan when the chips are down. Each to their own, like, I'm just not buying it.
Do you not think other clubs will be thinking the same though with us cast as one of the other rubbish teams?
Yeah, and maybe they are right, I just don't really believe it. Maybe we will go down but I'm certainly not giving up at 2 points adrift in November like 1 or 2 on here have. Edit: apologies if this view offends anyone I'm just trying to show some positives when its all doom and gloom.
They don't need to pull away from us, just being one point above us would be enough. I fear that LJ hasn't got the nous to get us enough points. I'm certain we will win games but whether we will win enough is another matter. Either way this season has to be seen as pretty unacceptable by anyone's standards.
Yeah because the players walking into a stadium full of Complain Toomuchmans sat there moaning and resigning themselves to relegation is definitely the same as a stadium of optimists getting behind them.
The issue as I see it is that we are incredibly easy to beat. I've seen very little evidence that LJ can make his team hard to beat. I don't think it's bad luck, the team isn't structured well enough and isn't organised well enough. There's a long time still to go and we will win again at some point I'm sure but will we win enough to stay up never mind pull away - I don't think we will. And even if we do manage to stay up, how many folk will be enthusiastic enough to sign up to do it all again? Quite a few less than this season I'd guess...
January transfer window. And you've said this pretty much every single season since I've been on here and it's only happened once.
True but look who we lost against in those 8 in a row - lose against your fellow strugglers at home then you are going one way, and all thats left is the top to middle order to play. A sure recipe for relegation.
If we are still second from bottom it's going to be difficult to get players to join us for a relegation scrap.
