Imagine a school that holds meetings for parents to discuss matters good and bad relating to the school. Except whenever anything is being discussed there's a knobhead parent who stands up and starts mouthing off about how the headteacher should be sacked. Doesn't matter whether the topic is exam performance or how little Timmy from year 4 raised money for charity selling cookies - he still stands up and shouts about how the head needs sacking and offers nothing else. Wouldn't you understand if the other parents wanted him to stop acting like a *****? And wouldn't you consider it fair that they give him numerous warnings and chances to grow up before resorting to banning him? And arguments about free speech are irrelevant. Gally keeps this place running on his own time and money, he can ban whoever the f.ck he wants as far as I'm concerned.
One rule for some on here and not for others. I've been personally abused by someone using very offensive language on here, which is apparently against Forum Rules, but nothing happens. Others, however, are threatened with bans, seemingly for posting their opinions too frequently. Dr Z's posts can be annoying, but don't think they're ever offensive. As for thereev, I find him pretty amusing, but he clearly rubs other people up the wrong way. people who don't like them just need to skip over their posts. Seems pretty simple to me...
Not sure if you are purposely being thick here but the issue isn't with your opinion it's hijacking every thread and posting the same couple of points: We're **** Sack Lee Johnson. You don't seem to add much more than that. They are also opinions that have probably been shared with the majority of posters on the forum at one time or other in the past few weeks or months so you aren't really adding any insight just being extremely annoying and tedious.
"extremely annoying and tedious" Like some of the events happening and statements made by personel within the club
That's the entire point summed up very well. Personally, the two of them bore me to tears, but for different reasons. The Reev bores me because I don't find most of his posts funny in the slightest. But then again I don't find Peter Kay funny either, so maybe it's me rather than The Reev who's boring. With The Doc it's different. He posts the same opinions time and time again, ad nauseum. There's nothing at all wrong with starting a thread called "Sack the Manager", or posting in someone else's thread on the same subject. The problem is the multitude of "off topic" posts which turn other threads, on unrelated subjects, into a "Sack the Manager" thread. Many forums have strict rules about multiple threads on the same subject, thread hijacking, off topic posts etc. We don't, maybe we should have? It would make Gally's job easier if there were some well publicised rules on this type of thing. I hope they don't get banned, but I hope they also change their ways. You "knobhead parent" analogy sums it up perfectly.
The problem is, most forums have this and that's a big part of the reason I prefer this one. The vast majority of people seem to have the half a brain it takes to understand the concept, so it would be a shame to lose it because of the couple that don't.
you have got to admit, this is another top quality fred by thereev, internet comedy sensation and all round good egg. gth (glad)
I wish you posted more often. Sorry for taking this off-topic and that. And Mansfield Red's analogy was on point n all.
Reev starting a thread crying about others being pathetic. Comedy sensation indeed. The knobhead parent analogy is spot on btw. Although I'd not ban them tbh.
That's fair enough, I actually prefer it that way too. Provided people stick to the "unwritten" rules.
