You mean where he holds their player up for a good few seconds but no-one bothers to help him out with the bloke who eventually scores?
No I mean where he gets his body positioning all wrong and then falls over. Holding up his man is what he failed to do so I don't really know how you can say that he was successful in doing it. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
George Smith and James Bree were good tonight and really grew into the game as it wore on. I've only just got home in the last half hour and haven't seen any highlights but I certainly didn't pinpoint George for blame at the time of the first goal going in. But I look forward to seeing said goal and maybe reassessing that viewpoint.
I don't post all that often on here but every time I do I see you having a dig at George Smith. Have you had a run in with him in real life? Seems to be a lot of dislike for a lad virtually everyone else has no strong feelings about one way or the other
Just got back also, and I think you will see that Smith did get turned too easily for first goal, BUT if Bree had not given ball away cheaply and then Mawson had not been turned easily then Smith would not have been in a position to make the mistake!! However other than that personally do not think Smith had a very good game today his pass completion was shocking I can only remember him passing forward to a red shirt twice in the whole game, his other efforts either being hit too long, straight to blue shirt or several times straight into touch. Unfortunately he is a young lad but his possession skills do not seem to be improving. When Adiy White played on Saturday his passing was infinitely better than Georges and in some ways was the reason we were in the position to win at Oldham. Therefore would hope that White is available for Saturday.
Thought George smith had a bad game to be fair. Needs to understand where left side of pitch is, he spends most of the time in the centre getting told by centre backs where he should be!
It's an opinions game. I certainly don't recall him to blame solely for the first goal and felt he played well overall same with Bree. But I will look again tomorrow at the highlights and maybe see it differently? I was at Oldham at the weekend and White had his moments himself none more so than where he nearly headed it in his own net. But we'll put that down to him being a newbie. Haha.
Here we go again. Any criticism of Smith is seen as a personal vendetta. I mean how could anyone highlight the mistakes of a 19 year old local lad? No matter how he performs only praise should ever be given. All mistakes ignored because at least he's trying hard. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
hes a young lad, he will get better as time passes and he gains experience and greater skills. LJ recognised albeit quite late we need a different player there right now, one who unfortuanatly couldnt play last night. isnt football great when a young lad gets ripped for trying his best.
So how old do you have to before trying your best but under performing to no longer be acceptable? Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
But what about their 2nd and 3rd...sorry if you have mentioned our other players mistakes as I haven't read every thread
Not at all. Others have said 3 people made mistakes in the build up to the goal but he's the only one dug out
