Remind me as to the reason why Crossley departed?

If Townsend is recalled for the Blunts game the the writing is on the wall

The reason was that Crossley was brought in by a previous manager and the new manager wanted his own team of coaches so they were all together in their purpose and vision !
Thats what I was told at the training ground. Whether its all true or has been misinterpreted ?

Was only thinking tother day its been a long time since we `ve been in such an average state with keepers, suppose this is what League One gets yer.

I like Davies, but feel he's going through a drop in form. He's certainly not on his own on that score, though. Although I do appreciate loss of form is no longer allowed in the modern game. Any player suffering in this manner is written off as crap, or they've been 'found out'. As yet, I've not seen enough of Townsend to write him off, but, in my opinion, his development appears to be behind Davies.

Davies is going backwards and Townsend imho just isn't anywhere near regular league football.

    Johnson IN btw

Isn't going backwards the same as losing form?

Not necessarily. His all round command of the area, his positioning, both currently woeful - just dropping a clanger or 2 - poor form. I think he's suffering from poor coaching & development - just my opinion, I'm not a qualified coach or owt.

You believe John Vaughan is a less talented goalkeeping coach than Mark Crossley and it's having a detrimental affect on our 'keepers?

It was reported at the time that Crossley simply wanted to work with his good pal Saunders, so his exit was his decision, not the club's.

I don't buy any rumblings about Johnson wanting rid and his own men in to be honest. The physio, kit man, academy coaches and Heckingbottom were all at the club before Johnson.

Using the evidence of my own eyes. Yes.

I have no clue as to Mr Vaughan's competency other than what I see on a Saturday aft

Fair enough, old mate. I, too, have no idea of the competency of either coach and won't call into question the professionalism of either. Personally, I believe Davies is simply out of form.

Yes I think that too, Crossley left because of interfering from other parties

I don't know enough about either Crossley or Vaughan and certainly wouldn't pass judgement on them, Andy. I simply believe young Davies is out of form, old mate, nothing more.

Don't think he's out of form Kev, just that the back 4 and keeper lack confidence in each other.

Persistent individual errors, changes in personnel and formations certainly don't help in building personal self confidence nor in each other.
You & Extremely Northern may well be right, mate, with your assessment of the situation. I just have a different interpretation, that's all.
