1 your playing a team playing two central midfielders at Center half due to injury. One of the central midfielders is about as mobile as brick shithouse. Where do you play your best striker and top scorer (I'll give you a clue Lee it shouldn't have been on the bench for 60 Minutes) 2 One of your center halves gets sent off with 5 minutes of normal time to go your already losing 3-2 and your desperate for points do you leave the striker with fresh legs you've just brought on to try and salvage something or replace him with a center half to secure a 3-2 defeat. (Another clue here Lee you don't get points for losing) Decisions like the two above plus 3pts from 30 and clueless Lee is still Head Coach. L2 here we come me thinks
''1 your playing a team playing two central midfielders at Center half due to injury'' are you willing to give the names of these two players. ''Where do you play your best striker and top scorer'' Winnall's not done it this season for a lot of fans, '' already losing 3-2 and your desperate for points do you leave the striker with fresh legs you've just brought on to try and salvage something or replace him with a center half to secure a 3-2 defeat.'' Kinder garden knowledge would state you try and make your team balanced no matter the game situation. ''Decisions like the two above plus 3pts from 30 and clueless Lee is still Head Coach. L2 here we come me thinks'' name calling, Classy to the core
Sorry I didn't realise Hourihane and Pearson were centre halves. No wonder we have such a crap defensive record. Is Davies a striker.
I have a heartfelt question for Mr L Johnson.... Please will you leave asap and save my club from relegation? Fanks Mr L Johnson, that would be great. Hth
Fair challenges, but: The majority of defenders in this league have been as mobile as birck s**thouses. You can't sight last night as criticism alone on that point. I can understand folk being concerned/annoyed/bewlidered by bringing a defender on for a striker, but we almost equalised three times from what I read on Twitter/in match reports. So was it that bad a decision, or just an unpopular one?
Thank you for your opinion Hemsworth but His balanced team lost, I'm not German by the way so I went to Nursery School not Kindergarten so maybe that's why I'm apparently thick and don't understand tactics and stuff unlike a genius like you and the Head Coach The strikers he started with didn't score Winnall did despite being on the bench for 60 minutes. I called him Clueless because IMHO you'd have to be pretty clueless as a head coach to manage to get 3pts from 30 in the third tier of English professional football with a team with allegedly the sixth biggest budget in that tier we haven't been playing Barca or Real every week you know it's been Fleetwood Crewe and the like.
Or on the contrary, we could have been left too short at the back and as a result lost by more goals.
And that my fellow Bbsers is the only question one should be asking! Any other club would have ditched Johnson weeks ago
Good observation, I was going to post the same but for fear of being labled a Leephobic I didn't. You cannot in all reality bench your top scorer in any circumstance, but especially when you lie in the bottom four of the league, and to top it all like you said he pulls on a defender when down with little time left to salvage a draw. The man hasn't a clue, seems to panic in certain situations, no football brain TBH.
Of the two questions in the OP I think the first one shows just how Johnson is not geared to getting the best out of the players we have. Poor understanding of the game to have the inexperienced and unproductive Toney in front of Winnall. Even more galling that now we have some decent wing play in the team Johnson has removed the man who could make the most of it. On the second question, and trying to retain a degree of balance which I don't think he more generally merits, his change after the sending off was to enable us to go to a 2-4-3 formation and that was the right call. Whether taking Jackson off, instead of, say, one of the full backs, was the right choice is a moot point.
At Doncaster he took three defenders off when we were drawing. He has no tactical knowledge whatsoever.
But why would that matter? You still only get 0 points for a loss, whether it by 1 or 7 ! If we had kept the striker on , the chances we created late on may have been put away, but by bringing on a defender we lessened our chances of scoring, unless you think Nyatanga is a better goal scorer than Jackson?
Winnall has more goals than all the other players who have played upfront added together. Barking not to pick him.
But providing you always keep that one goal deficit you're in with a chance everytime you put the ball in to the box. Go kamikaze, leave yourself short, and they'll make the extra man count instantly.
