The problem with sterling is his decision making and finishing... Good God hos finishing is ****ing terrible. I think in two seasons he will be the best wide player in the premier.
As for the summer with England, we have better options if everybody is available. Id play Walcott, Ox, Vardy or Welbeck ahead of him in the wide positions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hes been very much hit and miss for city this season. When hes good he is good. But when things go against him he hides. Needs to do a hell of a lot of work on his finishing final ball and consistency before he becomes a 'great player'. As much of that will relate to his own attitude as much as the coaching set up behind him. Anyway this threads about yaya toure. alledged to be one of the best midfielder s in Europe. Yet last few times ive seen citeh I didnt realise he was playing due to his (lack of) influence. Flat track bully against teams such as watford. Doesbt like it up him against bigger clubs.
Not the best player in the world but certainly not the worst. Not as influential a player as he was a couple of seasons ago. City have a great spine of a team when all fit in Hart Kompany Toure Silva Aguero but take a couple of them out (Kompany n Silva both been injured) and they are not as dominating.
To be fair take away Aguero's 5 against Newcastle and his goal rate is pretty average and he's one of the best forwards in the world.
Take away Aguero's 200+ other goals and he really is ****. Sterling has pace but no real skills. Poor distribution and finisher at present but he is young and will hopefully improve.
J Sorry I presumed you were talking about this season... Don't necessarily disagree about Sterling but it's a bit disingenuous to 'remove' goals to back up an argument. You are getting dangerously close to the facile Penalties and corners dont count line that detractors of Hourihane use.
I want Sterling to progress and improve especially with the euros coming next season but on the occasions I have seen him this season (England and Man City) he hasn't exactly stood out.
Yes I'd agree with that. He's a young lad though plenty of time to get better. I guess we all need to forget his price tag and his attitude.
