The lads on here who've shared what they heard and shared their thoughts on it etc. Cheers. Had there been just one thread on the subject I'd have stuck a thanks in it, but there seems a few covering the same topic so aye, just wanted to say thanks and that I appreciate you trying to relay back to fellow supporters what went off. I've always found BM a very enthusiastic and bubbly bloke, and a decent one with it. Far from the figure some paint him as. But I'm accused of being up his arse when I say owt like that. And when meeting/conversing with LJ, I find him just as enthused and also a decent bloke. Neither come across to me as bullshitters or owt. I'm pretty certain both want the absolute best for BFC and are doing their very best to help that happen. However, from what I've seen on the pitch, what I've seen in the transfer market, I think both are failing. I'm not going to call for their heads though. Because what we think is irrelevant when all's said and done. But I do find it bizarre (and weirdly refreshing) that Lee hasn't been sacked. Hopefully (going on the comments of Jay) we'll see a big improvement once we've done business in January. But there's a few games before that window opens... I'll be there next season whenever work/life/mood allows, no matter what division we're in. That's not a factor in my attendance. But from what I've heard from many others at matches and many on here, a lot of folk will not be renewing season tickets etc if things don't start to improve on the pitch. Their prerogative. But food for thought for those in power. Once again, cheers to the lads who went last night. I didn't even know there was such a meeting so this was a pleasant surprise. And at least puts an end to the myth that Ben's lost his tongue. If you've met Ben, you'd know how impossible that is.
I think that's exactly the point. Five games to be precise. And you'd be a brave man to think we're going to gather many points from them. I'm getting to the same point now as I did after the post-Prem season. We let Danny go (after ST renewal deadline day), then began selling (again!) and then hired Bassett. Since the premature sacking of Ritchie it's almost constant steady decline. I'm not demanding playoffs, promotion or owt. But the qaulity of entertainment has to be there. And isn't it strange how the next new dawn always seems to lie just beyond the next transfer window? How much time do they think the club has got? There again, perhaps they just think we're all stupid? (They may have a point).
I am stupid. Because each matchday I get excited when I'm on the train and we go past Darton, knowing I'm just a few minutes away from seeing pals, getting ale down my throat and supporting my team, thinking we'll win.
I make that self same journey and I swear I have the same amount of optimism and enthusiasm every time. Few drinks with good friends, the potential for any kind of result and the buzz that comes with attending the match. No matter who's in charge or who's laikin. Stupid eh.
He's an exceptional bloke. I'm proud to call him my mate. In both a gay and not gay kind of way. But don't tell him.
Relegation would knacker crowds. But before that it's going to be very interesting to see how they manage to sell half season passes with Lee Johnson still in charge.
You're a Bradford resident, I thought you were. If ever you see me all excited as we pass Darton, introduce yourself. Pair of stupids.
I went to listen to LeeJay in the Legends Suite before the season started and I thought "this bloke's the real deal!". Just like I did when they had the same meeting with Flicker....... and Danny (v.2)! So I must be stupid!
That was the only season in the last eight when I didn't renew (protest at letting Bobbins go). I weakened in his second season!
The first four months (a few results aside) we were a proper competitive, attractive football side who were capable of turning anyone over with some superb footballers on our books. But then we were really unlucky. And I'm not talking Lee Johnson unlucky, one or two injuries or whatever, I mean proper unlucky. Awful decisions made by the powers above Keith really hindered that strategy ever succeeding. He nearly made a second fist of it the season after, but then bizarre rumours of a foreign takeover and other rumours put paid to that. It's a shame the club didn't give Keith the kind of opportunity they're now giving Lee. Maybe they've learnt? *Fully accept that Keith wasn't even half the supporters' cup of tea though, which dint help.
