Patrick Cryne is someone who stepped in at a critical time for the club - so we have reason to be grateful for that - however his position at the club can't be maintained. He is an awful chairman. I have no idea how he managed to succeed in business.

Anyone with eyes can see that it's time to let Johnson go. He has to go. We are nailed on relegation fodder. Bottom of the league in the run up to Christmas and this time we're staring at bottom tier football. If we go down again it will be a long long time before we get back to a decent standard of football - if we manage to stop the rot and avoid non-league football.

This is genuinely how critical our position is now. Every single game counts and it really is make or break for us and our club.

It's like Cryne is asleep at the wheel right now. I have no confidence that we have the skills in the club that we need to ensure we have the right team of staff, the right people in the squad, that we can make the best use of the squad we have.

At the moment we are punching well below our talent and ability. Johnson isn't even astute enough to make us rigid and difficult to beat. At the very least, when the chips are down, I expect that team to be combative and awkward to breakdown (because every single player should be playing for his shirt and working hard off the ball).

Cryne is going to continue to sit on his hands. Johnson hasn't got a clue. Neither of them bring enough in to make it worthwhile keeping them - regardless of the cost of disposal. Whatever we bloody do, we have to get this stuff sorted out. It's beginning to look like a conspiracy inside the club to actually devalue the club and undermine the support.

Awful. IMHO every single supporter should be demanding change.

Sorry I've been working late shifts - so aside from seeing us get beaten again by Peterborough - what was said? Do I need to get my coat?

    I'd like him to stay

And have told him as much

However I wish I'd have been stronger in the way I told him - I not only want him to stay I want him to stop being so sheepish about it. It's all well and good this "I've done what I can, I'll go when I can sell" stuff, which appeases the happy-clappers and maintains his God-like status (yes we are ALL eternally grateful for him saving and servicing the club). What I want to see is him shout out that he is in charge and roll his sleeves up and get stuck in the way he did when building up a thriving business empire.

The ones I want out (despite the impressed audience at Athersley) are Taylor, Mansford and Johnson. Taylor we hear not a peep from (we had 'explanations' about Watkins and Mansford that seem to have been swallowed), Mansford is to embroiled in agency ties, and we hear nothing when the chips are down, and Johnson? Fish out of water. Lovely bloke, speaks well but totally out of his depth.

Agree with Andy, its Mansford and Johnson we want rid off.

whilst Mansford is CEO Johnson will not leave.

The only thing I can say against LJ on personal basis is that if he had an ounce of integrity he would walk away - as I would do if I was struggling in my job (if I hadn't been sacked first)

Harsh in my opinion. Surely you've got to have faith in your ability to do any job, therefore 'integrity' in backing yourself and self belief?

Not sure you have to be cynical to realise he knows he's out of his depth and waiting for the Golden Goodbye?

Nothing against the guy personally. Like a string of previous managers he's learned his life-lesson at Oakwell and will go on to be stronger and more successful for the experience.

The board aren't going to make LJ a sacrificial lamb for implementing their failed strategy. They know what went wrong in the summer, have a plan to put it right in January, and are going to give Johnson time to implement it

How many players do you think they will bring in and how confident are you that LJ can actually make a team out of them?

But is January --> May enough time to salvage things? It's almost an admission that come January we have to start all over again, and we haven't got a very good record of starting over again.

Re: I'd like him to stay

Difference is, this guy doesn't have a Bury or Rochdale to run off crying to. Being sacked by a Barnsley side he has taken to the bottom of League One would do huge damage to his reputation, and I think he'd struggle to get another job. In my opinion, he knows this, and is fighting for his career, not just his job.

Mr Cryne would love to get rid of this club to a suitable person. Instead of posting your views on here, FIND ONE.

Just pointing out what was said midweek. I'm confident IF we can add some experience and leadership to the team we will improve. A short term bounce aside I don't think a manager that we could attract would make much difference with the current squad, and I'd rather invest the required compensation to sack him in the team.

Perhaps the board just don't fancy their chances of finding another bloke so easy to manipulate.
