Almost 50 years following this team but today's performance has done it for me . I've been a season ticket holder for most of those years but I'm finished. I'm sending emails to Ben and Patrick tomorrow. For most of this season we have been watching boys (us) against men. Men who fight, pull, push, get away worth almost murder whilst we stand and watch, don't tackle, put pressure on teams and let them run all over us whilst we try to pay pretty, premiership football. This manager hasn't got a fekin clue. Trying to play said football whilst we get bullied out of games by teams who come out wanting to win instead of looking nice, we never challenge, stand off teams and watch them run rings around us. Isgrove? Who? What does he add to the team, what does he do, supposed to be a winger, plays more in the middle than Pearson, FFS ... I would like to know if, in all these stats that Lee and his team look at if they count how many balls these players have ! Only that team out there today didn't seem to have one between them. Again, men against boys. The last back, white is the worst player I have ever seen. What the **** does Johnson see in him? ???? What stats had he been looking at to sign him? ??? Nyatanga, proving to be a complete liability, panics EVERY time someone passes the ball to him. With his ability and experience he should boss this league. I've said that already rids season about him. Our second worst player today. Get rid ASAP ... As for the 'head coach', great that Lee, applauding one of our players who kicks the ball into nowhere and it ends up in their keepers hands, WTF??? GROW a pair and shout at the feckers that are taking us into the fourth division, you bought/loaned them, give then a bollocking when they do something wrong and get them paying football where we attack teams instead of passing it 500 times and getting NOWHERE ... even that myopic tw#t keef Edwards could spot what we did wrong and he is thick ... Our tactics today ... long ball up to winnall, lose it every time to their defence and we are back in trouble. FFS can't anyone on our near the team bench see that? I could from where I was sat ... We were very lucky today, despite the goal, terrible penalty and some may say 'we hit the bar, the post, missed an open goal, had more possession, etc, etc, etc,' BUT, we were and have been poor all season. Second best to every ball as always, no fight, NO balls, nothing. As others have said on here, we need experience. No more excuses from the senior leadership team, get fekin rid of this I'm competent idiot and get some MEN signed who may pull is out of the situation this pillock has put us in. If he wants to pay pretty boy football **** off to a division that likes it, not ours where men are wanted to play hard, work hard and get results. Having said all that the ref was poor again today, pulling us up for 'foul throws', taking 5 years on a throw in, BUT, letting them get away with absolute murder and almost killing or keeper. Yes I'm pissed, PISSED off that the team I have loved and supported all these years are playing such dire, poor, unchallenging football, we find ourselves where we are. We deserve better. Better than the tripe this buffoon is giving us on the pitch every week. Congratulations to Lee and all those associated with the club. I really hope you are happy with the 'progress have made under you, bottom of the league . ..
Well I can only say that I'm blown away with that pingiskola, I just hope that you do send that e-mail to them because maybe, just maybe when they see that a ticket holder of 50 years is ready to throw the towel in they will at last see that action has to be taken and quickly. And the very first thing that has to happen is to ditch this moron we call the manager / coach.
The problem with your assertions to me is that you're seemingly criticising Johnson for signing players who aren't men etc, but he has tried to do that and been told he has to go for young players. It's fair enough to criticise tactics, selection etc but I don't think it's fair to criticise him for the team having a weak centre and being boys - that's who he has had to sign due to the club's policy.
The policy that he bought into when he took the job. Its quite simple really LJ is not up to the job any competent manager would get this group of players moving up the table.
I thought he told the men in power who he wanted, not the other way round so as a journalist you're not very good ...
a) If you really think he didn't want to sign any experience, you're in cloud cuckoo land and b) I'm not a journalist. I was an amateur journalist many years ago, but for a long time now I have just written opinion pieces.
It's not though is it? Mansford publicly said we weren't going to be relying on loans again, but we have more than we've ever had. I don't remember the club saying we won't sign ANY experience. In my opinion the idea to sign a group of young, hungry and talented players from lower leagues (like Hourihane and Scowen), and ones who aren't quite going to make it at higher clubs (like Williams) is what we should be doing. However it must be supplemented with experience and know-how. The club were banking on Stones being sold, and when he wasn't, it meant we couldn't bring in (what I'm assuming) were a list of permanent targets.
