First time I've done one directly after a match. It's much longer than usual. I've had lots to drink. Give it a listen if you want. And God bless you all.
Do I get a prize for listening all the way through. Certainly think I deserve it after 33 minutes. I agree with the majority, particularly for assessment that we were NOT unlucky. We had chances, but so did they. Where we differ is that I sought to find an explanation and found it in the concession of the first goal. It was that goal that allowed United to play the game the way that they wanted. If we had scored first, the game would have followed a totally different pattern. The team needs more quality. Of that, there is no doubt. But it also needs a break. I do not think we were unlucky today, but it would be nice to leave the ground feeling that we had the rub of the green and hoping to stay lucky. As John Dennis once remarked in answer to the question, "what sort of manager are you looking for?". "A lucky one", he said.
I normally jot some bullet points down, a few quotes to work with, and that makes it a lot easier and quicker to do. But tonight I just winged it, pissed up and it dragged on. I've listened back to it though and I don't sound like a bloke who's had about 12 pints. So I'm happy. You can have a prize though, mate. You can listen to me ramble on about Wigan next week.
Good episode Andy, I agree with pretty much everything. Good to see you and Bossman today too. Love from the eldest Kemp twin.
RE Rating Marley Watkins as 1 out of 10. Worth watching the highlights and seeing who played the ball to Winnall who had the shot resulting in the Isgrove chance. And who played the ball through to Hammill for the penalty (doesn't look like a pen to me either). http://www.skysports.com/watch/vide...ns/league-one/10083003/barnsley-1-1-sheff-utd Not going to try to tell you he had a great game, no Barnsley player did. There were periods in the second half when we were as bad as I've ever seen a professional team play. But I don't think Watkins was any worse (or better) than anyone else in red. He may have done little else, but the two passes from Watkins in that highlights package were, imho, our best and most incisive passes all afternoon and should have resulted in two goals. The fact they didn't isn't his fault, he did his bit.
Aye, I know. But the rest of what he did was utterly *****, and I apologise to you and a few others I saw for the impact comment re seeing folk. Pissed. Sorry mate.
I'd not seen this. Loved it, Andy. Again. I don't agree with with some of the stuff, but so what? And thank you for Bailey's contribution again, old mate.
