One doesn't doubt their nice chaps.

Bottom off the league would suggest they don't appear to have a clue as to what their doing.

Think we'd be struggling in League 2 with the current squad. Leagues 1,2 and Conference are all pretty similar I reckon...

Well, keep this mug in charge another couple of years and we'll find out for sure.

Oh wait, we can't sack him because signing young players wasn't his idea.

We are bottom of the league, and the one sole reason for that is he wasn't allowed to sign experienced players.

For crying out loud, it's as plain as the nose on your face, the man might speak well in Athersley rec or wherever, well coached by his spin dr mr Mansford, but he has absolutely no clue whatsoever.

The fact that some seem to believe that the apparent comedown in stance and the ability to sign players from a different criteria in January is going to make all the difference is absolutely baffling to me.

Yes, this will help. Yes, players with good experience will improve the squad. But it will still be the manager who took us to 24th in the league choosing them as transfer targets, coaching them daily, and picking the team. And probably leaving them out for a seventeen year old loan player from stoke city.

Whatever the policy is or was, it is a contributing factor, not an all encompassing explanation for the teams complete ineptitude. It hasn't helped, but it hasn't created the mess we are in of its own accord.

In two years, when we're at home to Gateshead in the conference, the club about to be liquidated and the two or three thousand people in the crowd are crying salt tears at it all, will it still be the transfer policy to blame?

I'm praying John stones isn't sold in January because if this bloke gets the money to spend I dread to think what we'll end up with.

I'm trying not to be overly personal. He's obviously a nice fella. But he's a nice fella who is absolutely useless at his job.

Like I said in my rant, the transfer stance etc is a contributory factor - I accept that. But it still does not excuse the results and performances being this bad.

We know that sammy winnall scores goals at this level when the setup suits his game. We know that Conor hourihane will score and assist almost at will in this division, he's scored in the last few when we've been gash; we know that Adam hammill has unbelievable ability.

Yes we have younger defenders, but they aren't completely unable. It is him that has been coaching them all season, when they've got progressively worse.

Mansford seems at times to talk nonsense, cryne and cryne junior may have a case to answer for forcing this transfer policy through, and there's other things apparently behind the scenes that don't help.

That said I honestly think that anyone who believes that we are only bottom of the league because of that transfer policy and the fact he's only a head coach not a manager is delusional. We are bottom maybe in part due to that - but another very large and more significant part is the fact the head coach is not anywhere near good enough.

The signs were there last season, when we had a few more experienced players, we were absolute garbage under him. He had an initial good run, started off by the caretakers before he got here. He carried it on - but did little to change anything as it didn't need it. As soon as his influence was felt we were atrocious - and have been atrocious all this season.

It's not like the other teams have just outclassed our players man to man, and they've wilfully tried but aren't good enough. They clearly are (at least most of them) good enough, and certainly better than the five or six teams (probably more) above us in the league.

There probably are deep issues at the club, but we can't expect cryne to give it away, and even with interfering owners and a ropey transfer policy, a better, even only half decent manager / head coach would get a much better tune out of this squad. He'd also be better equipped to improve it in January as well.

We have been found out, fielding kids.....It may work at the higher levels with better pitches, refs and other technically better players around but this league does not afford you the luxury of fielding European style tactics and formations and doing the same with kids.
At this level you need to man up and play to the conditions (although I love the beautiful game myself) but we get hurt week on week by dare I say it...."lesser players" and teams because they are savvy to this league.
