Although the vast majority of fans (I think) on here seem to want Lee Johnson sacked, it still amazes me how our general fanbase is accepting the position we are in. Our expectations have lowered an awful lot haven't they in recent months? We now seem happy that we 'gave it a go' in our away losses to Coventry and Peterborough and were 'unlucky' to only get a point today. I've never been as embarrassed in my entire 20 years as a Barnsley fan as I was tonight when I saw that we'd slipped to the bottom of the third tier. On top of that, we're playing in the worst League One there has been for years. Gillingham and Burton Albion are in the top three, for goodness' sake! We've been beaten at home to teams like Crewe, Fleetwood and Shrewsbury Town, not forgetting our cup exit to the mighty Altrincham. It's absolutely pathetic that a club with one of the biggest attendances and budgets is rock bottom. And still we haven't sacked the manager! I just can't believe it! Imagine what will happen in January when we lose ten of our current squad members. Yet another huge rebuild is needed. Can we really trust Johnson to do it?
Excellent post. Everything to do with BFC makes my mind boggle these days. Im actually way beyond boggled.
Well he has made some amazing line up choices. Watkins is not a league one player, winnall is an inside forward not target man,the lad from Southampton just ain't up to the mark, Lewin is slow and not dominant enough as isn't either his fellow half backs including Roberts.oh and both goalkeepers could dominate a school nursery playground nevermind a six yard box.Apart from that we have no problems
Does budget and attendances give a right to league position? You're talking like a Wednesday fan. Also are you implying we are bigger than Coventry? Even on your ridiculous "bigger = better" policy giving it a go at Coventry is decent
The club is an absolute frickin mess and many fans have just stopped caring. Those running the club seem determined to prove this experiment has worked whatever the cost.
Are you suggesting available resources should have no bearing on performance? Really? Its no coincidence that Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd get ******* massive gates. Its no guarantee but it sure helps if used and managed correctly.
It made me chuckle when LJ mentioned Sheff utds bigger budget yesterday, funny how it doesn't get mentioned after the Crewe, Fleetwood, etc etc games.
Wow. You are unreal. The worst kind of supporter there is my eyes. You'd still be criticising supporters and excusing the club if we were bottom of the Unibond. Incredible.
The club doesn't have any problems that I can see. It's only the supporters who have problems it seems.
Agree wi all that, apart from Watkins.... never a striker in a thousand years, yep, but he's ok wide...
No but it should quite rightly give a club an advantage in the transfer market. The fact that PC, bm and lj have completely failed to capitalise on this is an abject failure on their part
