1 win and a draw, lets hope he stays fit and proves to be our lucky talisman, some teams always have a certain player that if they play ,the results are better

He miscontrolled the ball several times to be fair.

He will be a bit rusty but just hope he can stay fit and sharpen his game so we see the best of him

does anyone who supports Barnsley, ever look at players movement rather than what they do on the ball, that's why we are struggling no good movement,if you don't get into positions or drag defenders out of the way, you get stagnant side to side play, we will see but IMHO ,with Williams in the team we will win more than we lose

Well he certainly looked like he wanted to be part of it yesterday whereas in the last game he didn't.

I think that's more coincidence than down to Williams. And weren't we drawing 1-1 when he left the field against Swindon?

I think he's a good player, but my god he looks rusty. I think he needs easing back in gently, and the half hour or so he got yesterday would have done him no harm whatsoever.

If you think after being out for 3 months without playing a proper game of football, especially the pace of the game he was going into not to look rusty then you're expecting a bit much. He could have had the chance to win it, if he shot while running down the wing, but he pulled it back and it went for a corner. Let's hope he stays fit and can get going again.

The lads touch wasn't great first time around. He's not a technically good player. Don't be expecting great trickery or quality crossing.

He's good at what he does which is beating people for pace & stretching teams.

    This.

I thought he looked like a lost puppy when he came on yesterday. He bottled it twice to avoid making any contact with an opposing player, which makes me think his mind is elsewhere.

Yes because he's going to go flying into a tackle when he's just come back

I'm not saying that he should have gone flying in FFS. Just gave me the impression because he pulled away so obviously, that he's a million miles off being ready to play competitive football.

Exactly that. My feeling is that if we weren't so far in the **** he wouldn't have been near the first team.

Or he was worrying about his injury but now he's played a game and come off uninjured he might have his confidence back. Same with horse riding, first time getting back on the horse after a fall is the hardest but then you're fine after that.

(No, I don't ride horses but someone gave me that advice after I fell at school when doing a handstand against the wall and not wanting to do one again. That first one afterwards was scary as **** but then I was right back into it after that. You're welcome for that fun, totally relevant, anecdote of Mrs JamDrop's life).

IIRC when he went off injured against Swindon we were losing...

Some years ago, back in my Gloucester days, I got thrown off by a great brute of a horse called Samson and I didn't know if I could get back on again. I was on my back but luckily it was an indoor riding school so the landing was soft. My instructor led him away and I went back to the stables and selected my favourite horse at that time, a Rolls Royce of a mare called Star. She was a dream to ride and I realised straight away that it was just Samson at fault, not me.

I just got on with it and was cantering around the school in no time. Maybe Williams will feel the same next week when he sees the manager, something like "Streuth, mate - put me back in straight away. I'm fair dinkum" :D

He seems like a massive confidence player to me. He came on yesterday and would've obviously been rusty but didn't touch the ball for a while, then had a few poor first touches and he looked a bit lost. But then he showed a few nice touches and dribbles towards the end of the match when we picked up as well.

It would be kinda weird to credit Ryan Williams for those two results but there's no doubting that a fully fit, confident Ryan Williams driving forward with the ball and creating space would help us get out of this mess that we're in.
