Crystal has just been called into work and been told, along with the rest of the staff, they're closing down the Old People's Home where they all work and they're all now out of work. The home will close by the end of January, but if anyone wants to leave beforehand they can. This is a week after she was put on a Management training course, told they valued her and the future would be a bright one! Sorry for bellyaching on here with such personal stuff, but I needed to get this off my chest. Barnsley at the bottom of the table? The debate about Lee Johnson's competency? At this moment in time, quite frankly I don't give a ****.
Sorry to be hearing such news mate. Just goes to show that there is no such thing as a valued worker......unless you are prepared to work for nothing and allow yourself to be treated like a piece of **** by uncaring and greedy bosses. Wasn't Crystal in a Union? Someone to help out. Shocking way to be treated. And what exactly is happening to the old folk who Crystal attended? Just bundled lock stock and barrel to another care home? This is possibly the last thing those people needed. What a caring society we have here. Tory Basterds.
Sorry to hear that. Whilst it is of little consolation, I tend to think along the lines of "It wasn't meant to be, and something better will turn up".
Sorry to hear that JLW, I'm laying staff off now as well as the bottom fell out of the industry and the shareholders are rationalising. I will be gone at end of February myself. Anyway this is about Crystal, just keep her chin up mate.
Awful news mate as ever puts things into perspective. You also feel for the residents losing their home.
Nasty news, it's so upsetting when bad things happen to good people. But there's a new year coming, new opportunities, new starts, better things to come.
Worst possible timing fella. My missus has lost her job the last 2 Christmases in a row (well just before Christmas anyway). It's a sucky feeling but I'm a firm believer of everything happening for a reason. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
That's totally **** mate, made even more totally **** by the time of the year and the uplift before the news! Best wishes to all, really hope it works out for you all
Yep, I was just reading in the paper coming home that Xmas is the preferred time for employers to make redundancies. It said they did before bonuses were paid in January/Feb. With all of these things, if you get a decent payout and find a new job quickly it can be blessing. In my case it took me 9 months to find something else, so I didn't quite reap the benefit of the redundancy package!
Eyup Kev, that's awful news mate, it's never a good time to lose your job but to get the news just before Xmas is shocking, I know it's easy for me to say but try not let it ruin Christmas for you and crystal pal, hopefully new opportunities will be on the horizon
You Hi Kev, Sorry to hear the bad news, even tho I don't know you on a personal level, I have spoke to you on many occasions, You and your family have had some difficult times to say the lease, but I see you as the type, that fall in **** and come out smelling of roses. All the best and every dark cloud and all that... Chin up only good come's to good people
I always thought that saying referred to people who were undeservedly lucky, Kev? In all honesty, old mate, I have to admit we as a family don't feel particularly lucky tonight. But there are folk who are a damned sight worse off than us and we'll get through this.
