If you had to, no choice in the matter had to place a £1000 bet of your own money on Barnsley this year to either stay up or go down, where would you put your money. LJ in charge for the season, the same squad and most importantly betting with your head not heart. I would think most people would bet on us staying up even though we are bottom of the league in December. Am I wrong?

Unfortunately relegation. I think we'll go down so I'd bet on that.

Even though I am an eternal optomist... I fear for us if LJ doesn't make changes. I feel squad is ok. A few more additions needed.

But lets be fair we dont work as hard as opposition, we have no shape, players lack confidence, we lack goals in attack and concede to easily at the back. We are a disorganised shambles of a team and often players do not look motivated. Sorry but blame is with Mr Nice Guy Johnson the manager!

Phil Brown would be my pick!

LJ doesn't know his best team. Wabara is physically and technically very strong but poor decision making and positioning create a huge problem at the back. Same said for Naytanga. Bree and Roberts both quiet and efficient, but appear to be out of favour with our manager. Same said for Jackson in attack.

With the squad we've got now, I'd put the money on relegation. But I'm expecting (hoping for) some signings in January, so I'd have to reassess it after they fit in to the team.

Same squad, but especially same manager, then down for sure

I'm not worried in the slightest although our fortunes need to change soon.

Couple of experienced heads through the door in January and I think it should see us well safe. Then it'll be time to reassess the situation. Not 20 games into a season with us seemingly bucking our recent bad form.

With the up turn in performances, bit of spirit shown, a few points gained recently and the quality of the teams in this league im surprised there is less optimism about us staying up irrespective of who we sign in Jan, but like you say lets reassess in Jan because that could go either way depending on who stays, goes or comes in.

Without significant January reinforcements and a more reliable recruitment team I'd say relegation.
