Thats 7 goals already this season, and 5 assists!

Ibhere has 12 goals and 1 assist to his name!

Luke Berry 4 goals, 3 assists

Danny Rose 5 goals, 2 assists

Wish we had em all back at the well! Wonder if Ben, Pat and Lee regretting letting them go.

Different players flourish under different conditions it probably wasn't right for them to find success here. Who's to say they would have found that sort of form had they stayed

I know Ibhere wasn't our player, but pretty sure once he became a free agent in the summer we had first dibs...

    Doubt it. We have:

    C.Wilkinson 1 goal, no assists.
    Toney no goals, no assists
    M.Smith no goals, no assists.
    Isgrove. .......

It's almost as if they've become decent players under semi-competent managers.

Most on here said jabo wasn't good enough, most said Milan wasn't, alot said luke berry wasn't, most didn't want danny rose to go (Johnson had nothing to do with danny rose going) I'd have jabo, berry Milan and danny rose back tomorrow

    All played well here IMHO.

And Jabo and Rose both scored goals.

Lalkovic was always creative and had potential to score but was frozen out by Johnson.

Berry was a good engine in midfield, he played more defensive role for us. Good utility player.

They would certainly not, in fact he might have had them all on bench

Almost every player we let go, the fans wanted shut of and claimed weren't good enough at this level. As fans, we generally have **** all patience with anything.

You say that, but I think it was just the vocal minority. The same vocal minority who've been calling for the managers head since the start of October. The same vocal minority who want Patrick Cryne to leave.

Back to the OP, it's easy on paper to say look at this ex player, look at that ex player afterwards, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. I didn't want us to let Berry go, and I reckoned Jabo would have done a job and maybe Milan, who to be fair was no more effective for us than either Lloyd Isgrove or Kadeem Harris. But they moved on, let it go. I could probably list tons of ex players who aren't scoring or assisting goals at the minute. For every missed opportunity, there's a player we did well to get shut of.

I wanted to keep Rose & Berry & to sign Jabo.

I wasn't keen on Lalkovic, little end product for us but full credit to him he's clearly doing well at Walsall.

I remember the general mood on here (apart from the usual suspects) being one of surprise when Berry and Rose went - maybe less so Lalkovic. I'd definitely have kept all three, and I was actually -along with at least a few others - quite angry about the way Berry in particular appeared to have been treated.

To be fair, I thought the club were very fair with Berry. For whatever reason he fell down the pecking order and we were open enough to say to him, look we've received an offer for you, would you like to discuss terms with Cambridge. He said yes and resigned for them. Lee Johnson said as much at the time we sold him.

Would have liked to have seen him stay myself but he left for the chance to play regular first team football.

That's the way I remember it too. What I would like to ask is, why are we telling a kid with his sort of potential that he'll not be in our first team? Why aren't we telling him: if you work your ballacks off Luke, you'll be in our team. Why are we telling decent young talent that they haven't got a future with us? We should be doing everything to convince them they have. If we've got a wealth of talent at the club and he's well down the pecking order, fair enough. However, we started the first game of the season with on loan Manchester United player Ben Pearson in midfield. We started the second game of the season with on loan Manchester United player Ben Pearson in midfield and on loan Manchester United player Joe ******* Rothwell.

I probably should have asked that at the Q&A last week. I did ask whether Ben and Lee thought we might be doing better had we still got Cranie, Berry, Bailey and Lalkovic in the side. But then it degenerated in to a row between me, Ben and Lee about Lalkovic.

Fact is Archey we have players here now warming the bench that for what ever reason aren't getting games instead loanees with so called potential or less effective players are getting the nod...

Why is that? Because management don't know what they are doing...

IMHO successful teams have a settled back 5... We started season brightly with settled defence that included Bree & Roberts... Since then we have been all over the place. LJ tinkers and changes defence to often including goalkeeper.

I put it to them that they let a player go for nowt who now plays for a club in the play-off spots, challenging for automatic promotion, while we languish in the relegation zone. I noted that he scored one and set one up when they beat us, then scored in the following game and the game after that.

Ben said that in his opinion Ryan Williams is a better player than Lalkovic and they've been very unlucky with Williams' injuries. (They have been unlucky. He was fit when he came here, completely over what did for him last season, and he passed the medical. He picked up his injuries training with us.)

I conceded that Williams is a better player, or has more potential, but that I couldn't care less how Lalkovic measures up to Williams, the fact remains he's 10 times the player of someone like Rothwell, who is ******* *****. I believe I used that exact description. It was towards the end, I'd had plenty of beer by then.
