You're implication was that it is hypocritical to be very wealthy and believe in a system that redistributes wealth more equally. I don't understand the problem with someone arguing for something that will benefit others but not themselves. If we were more empathetic as a society the world would be a better place.

    Benn said,
Yet Franco was in power until the 1970's. Hilary needs a history lesson.

Spain was a very similar scenario to Syria in as much as the hated Franco was overwhelmingly opposed by a very fractured opposition, who in turn fought amongst themselves . indeed British fighters fighting against the fascist's found themselves fighting against each other in the various opposition groups including the international brigade.

I was lucky enough to see Tony Benn speak twice live. Once up Victoria Road during the miners strike and once down in Bristol. Brilliant speeches both of them. I have always been a big supporter of his and his politics. Hilary Benn has obviously inherited his ability as an orator. I thought his speech yesterday was superb. I've been undecided about extending air strikes against Daesh ( as I now will call them) for most of the reasons Corbyn gives. However, I also believe that we have to support our allies, especially France and do think that such action does inhibit Daesh advances. Benn's speech eloquently stated the socialist case for the strikes. I support that.

The Civil War was 1936-39. So they went to fight in the 1930s.

It’s not appeasement to say that bombing won’t solve anything, in fact it will make things worse. It was said by both Cameron and Corbyn, people are not disagreeing as to whether we should tackle ISIS, they are disagreeing about the way to go about it.

Nothing that bombing Syria would make any impact on.
I take it you mean the Paris attacks? Just how will bombing Syria make us safer in the UK or Western Europe? Most of the attackers were French nationals, all this bombing is likely to do is to cause more people to be radicalised.

The interview he gave, was after the Paris attacks.

I take it back, the communists are bombing now......its just Jeremy who is stomping his feet. Does anyone actually believe in true and honest reality in the depth of their hearts that Jeremy is firstly leadership material and secondly has any realistic views on world politics and Inparticularly Middle East politics or even any economic policies for the uk? I'm sorry but I see none of this in him. Please persuade me otherwise because if ever this buffoon got into power the UK would surely be finished.
