    If Corbyn listened to Benn's speech he must have felt about three inches tall. Benn is the heir apparent when Labour comes to it's senses.

    That's been the problem with politics for a long time .people who can make the best speeches or carry an interview better getting the top job.
    The labour party members wanted change but not the change the politicians advocated where everything that changed stayed the same.
    Hillary Benn may have made a great speech but the bottom line is it was a case for bombing without the reassurances wanted by a majority of the electorate .
    Reassurances of what happens next, what's happening with the oil and money daesh are laundering, are the same outcomes gonna be as in Afghanistan,lybia,Iraq,.
    These are the problems ignored at yesterday's vote, a vote that is based mainly on certain peoples opinions of bombing is better than doing nothing which is very dangerous given the Muslim communities in this country watching the inevitable slaughter of bombing an idealism that doesn't respect human life and will put civillians in the way of their assets.

    Aye, and the press will now try to divide and conquer the Labour party once again with it pushing Benn into the spotlight and claiming he is leadership material.

    I've listened to his speech again and my original assessment of it being a 'pretty good' speech was wrong, very wrong. It was a phenomenal barnstorming speech.
