They have over 6 million followers.

They shared this video earlier today which has received 211,000 likes.

I think it's our u21's from last season. What gave it away is that George Smith is clearly the player who starts the move off.

From a couple of years ago plus I reckon that. Nike Shirts.

Very good finish from George Maris too. There was a midfielder from Man City on trial too. Wonder which club hes at now. Think he went to Turkey after leaving them. Was amazed Barnsley didn't try and sign him.

How come not one of our teams can win a game of football?

I wouldn't be obsessed with results at youth level . They are a young group in the main at u18 level. Bree Walton and Pedro missed games this season for different reason. 2 of them already signed long term pro deals with Pedro a talented player but injured this season. Last I heard was he was with his Dad at Benfica. I'd imagine their youth physio's will be looking after him.

The u21's are different but with so many new players in that group it's hard for them at times.

There are a few first years that have impressed me in my limited viewing

Okay. Thanks for posting that though. As I said above i was at that game.

Looking at that it must be like playing a different game for the likes of George Smith. To play in a system that allows really nice on the eye Football and players around him that all give options and understand each others games. What Dreams are made of for your team mates i'm sure.

What do you mean it's not real Football. They are living a professional footballers life. It's where they learn and expressive themselves Mark.

Plus don't give me this it's soft bull ****. Physically it's testing. You stand at the side of one of the players they can make you look small/weak for sure.

tbf though Phil I dont buy the fact that u18s shouldnt think about winning. My old man took over the youth team at Barnsley and won the league 3 times in 3 years (I think) and the cup. They hadnt won it for years.

Players that were then moved into the first team, Watson, Eaden, Burton, Liddle, Jackson. They were made into winners, they didnt just win for the fun of it. I know I might be blowing smoke up my own dads arse here but none or very few of those players would have had the careers they did if it wasnt for my old man and his staff beasting them and turning them into professional winners.

I played in the youth teams at Barnsley and I never ever thought it didnt matter to win or not, not once. I only wanted to win, whats this new thought that Kids don't need to get a winning habit or be driven to become winners.

Now that is totally ballax !! They will never ever make me look small and weak ! Never in a million years!
They should be busting a gut to win, because if they are not bothered about winning at 18 years old, they never will be bothered. They are paid to play football and to these kids it does not matter what the score is and it shows .

Good for your Dad, but i'm sure he will realise that it's not everything. I actually saw the Leeds game he managed last season and they were a mess. I've not seen a set of players moan and abuse so much. In fact late on one of the players got sent off for calling the Ref a fecking albino ****. It's something you notice from leeds especially. There coaching staff are very verbal on the touch line.

PS, it's not a personal attack but just reporting on what I witnessed.

Of course they want to win and they will aim to do that but there's a bigger picture.

Mark i'm not trying or going to get into a argument with you through this forum.
Development must come over individual results.
Stones was allowed to make mistakes which makes him the player hes become. Did he cost goals YES, Did that matter over him developing? No. He spoke about this before the France game.

I understand what you're saying. Development is the main aim of the younger squads, but winning breeds confidence. If a young team is struggling to beat players at their own young age, then they'll struggle to make the step up to men's football.

Mind you, they're probably getting them used to losing week in week out so they can fit straight into the first team.

Winning's amazing for them in the instant Mex Tyke. But Losing shows something in the player too. How they react to the situation. I'm sure the coaches want both. Now will this Youth team win games from what i've seen? yes. but maybe they might have to wait until next season.

Not taking as a personal attack at all Phil. What I will say is don't base what you believe on one game. The teams I mentioned before and other teams that my old man was involved with played some of the best football Barnsley FC has ever played, Juniors and the first team at Oakwell. You ask any one of those lads I mentioned if BFC played attacking football during that time. You ask any one of them if they would have spilled blood for that shirt. Don't miss represent or misunderstand my words.

If you read my post I wasnt saying that all we should do is fight to win, its a mixture of both. You have to earn the right to play attractive football. You have have the steel and desire to want to put a shift in and then beat the team in all aspects of the game.
