Win games of football, Lee and everything else will fall into place. Focus on trying to achieve that. Well said Mr Whitey !!!!!
Johnson moaning about that makes him as bad as premiership managers who knowingly sign African players when they can go missing for the African Cup Of Nations and then whinge about one (or in some cases many more) of their team missing for a good month.
Newcastle and Sunderland are two well supported teams. Not exactly helping them is it? LJ needs to keep his mouth shut and concentrate on his job.
It's bizarre. He should think himself lucky he's not been listening to 'Johnson out' chants & regular booing. The fans have been incredible & don't deserve any criticism. Simon Davey had a run of form nowhere near as bad & had fans going round to the back of the dressing rooms demanding he be sacked
well he could do us all a favour himself....resign!....but he won't and the fans won't stop telling the truth by singing 'we are *****' cos it's a fair assumption that if we are bottom of the league, we are indeed shlte! we say it as it is here in tarn Mr Johnson...and we are shlte....never mind all the garbage you come out with after the numerous defeats we have had.. hth but it wont
So it's not thank you to the fans that travelled after a horrendous half season it's stop singing songs about us being **** Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
has anyone read the full article? i doubt he's just come out and started having a pop at the fans. he's done nothing but praise the fans all season (obviously that never gets a mention). there are some sensitive little sausages on here, aren't there...
Yup. One edited quote from one answer to one posed question in one interview without context or the benefit of intonation
If LJ was in charge at Sheff Utd it'd have been shoes off in the car park time 2 months ago, he should count himself very lucky. Also, 4 points from 9 and a draw in the JPT is hardly adequate improvement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree with him in principle. If the players are working their ballacks off (imho they are, it's the quality/inexperience not the effort that is a problem), but all they can hear from their own fans is that they're ****, it's not going to motivate them further. If we believe that singing, shouting and supporting can have a positive influence on the team then this can have a negative affect, even though it's done in jest. However, Lee should have been savvy enough to know the reaction he'd get if he spoke about it. If he was asked the question, just feign indifference. Best way to stop these songs is not to highlight them, but to win a few more games.
You can sing until you're blue in the face - won't change a thing. The fact is the manager and players are not up to it and no amount of deflecting this onto the supporters will change that.
I`d like to hear it more often, cos we would actually be winning/leading away more often. The chant itself is a haif positive, haif negative one.
If Mr Johnson wasn't so clueless, we wouldn't be bottom of the table and therefore our long suffering fans wouldn't be singing it. Simples Mr Johnson, win some games ....and quick or else it will be squeaky bum time. hth
I don't think the fans have been calling them "****" per se. They've been singing songs and demonstrating gallows humour during our plight. Under the circumstances I think the players and manager have had an unbelievably easy ride in terms of abuse from fans during games. Maybe LJ and players need to find a sense of humour?
