But doesn't the land deal with Barnsley MBC make his exit unachievable?

    I've heard that too.

I knew that, but just thought it very strange that he said he didn't realise how much potential the lad possessed. Unless it was a tongue in cheek remark in an attempt to get down with the kids at the No. Sev.

All very good, but a few things.

Do you think it's possible the manager of the club he signed for would know how much he was bought for? Maybe those who were involved in the transfer discussions told him? Maybe those at Everton talk to one another? It's a possibility at any rate. Not that I'm saying what Mr Cryne said is wrong and what Mr Moyes said is right. For a start, I don't know, but when I read the thread I didn't immediately think Mr Cryne had lied. Thousands of transfer deals are done, people misremember the exact figures. I thought it more likely that Mr Cryne was right, but I've now heard 3 completely different fees from separate 'official' sources ranging from £3 million (Don Rowing) down to £2.2 million (was it?) (Mr Cryne) and now what ever Moyes has said, although I believe he mentioned a figure before.

At the No 7 didn't Mr Cryne say they didn't know if Stones was any good? But now he's saying they put the 15% sell on clause in because they believed he was going to develop in to a reight player? Which is it?

And hasn't Mr Cryne posted on facebook that he has nothing to do with the running of the club? But now he's saying he negotiated a 15% sell on clause?

I'm not calling anyone a liar because I have no idea what the facts are. But I can't believe a single word of any of it because it's all so contradictory. That's me not believing, not them lying. There's a big difference.

I'm not sure he's saying that the 15% was added because they thought he'd turn in to a reight player, but they believed that deal was better than asking for more money up front. I think there's a difference there, or there is in my interpretation anyway.

The quotes coming out of the 7 were that they didn't know how good he was, not that they didn't know if he was any good. But again I wasn't there so just my interpretation of what I read.

He's said face to face it is. Quoted it in the interview with the Trust.

Probably someone else doing the actual typing, but I'd assume they are his sentiments dictated.

Mr Cryne actually said, "Is he any good?"

Direct quote from Mr Cryne: "We sold John Stones for £2.2 million... Don Rowing rang me and said we've had this offer from Everton for £2.2 million for John Stones, and I said, 'Who?'
    'John Stones'
And I said, 'He's played a couple of times for the first team, but you must be wrong, they must have got the wrong John Stones.'
'No, it's the right John Stones and they want to offer £2.2 million."
    "Is he any good?"
"Well, we don't know really, but they've offered £2.2 million."

He goes on to say he was easily worth £10 million.

Pretty sure I can't get sued for quoting someone. Actually, I probably can, but there'd have to be something seriously ****** up if I lost the case.

I'm with you on this. Everyone says that it is, but I just find it so difficult to believe. It just seems wrong. It is, but to me it just isn't.

    Consider yourself 'unfriended'

If we go down we will be worse off than when we were 'saved'. Some legacy.
