Not heard many sensible options for a new manager on here

Garry Monk would never drop down to a L1 relegation fight, Hassell might be a club legend but he has no managerial experience at all and wouldn't be what a young squad needs.Mark Cooper although did a good job last season led Swindon to the relegation zone this time around and a quick fix is the last thing this club needs and despite LJ doing an awful job that doesn't for a second mean that rehiring Danny Wilson again would be the answer.

Stuart Gray would have been perfect but due to the club clowning around with what is an inevitable sacking he has been snapped up by Fulham.

The only other options out there that I think might have a chance of being realistic and a good choice are Chris Powell and Gary Bowyer, both harshly sacked by Championship clubs who don't have the money to back up their unrealistic ambitions.

 

A managerial committee of me my 3 year old and my non who's been dead for 10 years would be more successful. So I would say literally anybody other than Paulo Di ****hook.

Jose morinho we need experience. Or Burton and hecky until end of season and then see if pep fancys the job.

 

If LJ does get sacked I think Burton and Heckingbottom would be the obvious choice for the rest of the season. I have lttile appetite to see the Board take another punt on someone external, but would like to see what a bit of pride and passion from those two might lead to. The likes of Hollloway, Cooper, Rosler, Powell may even be out of our reach anyway considering we're fighting relegation. Burton and Hecky for me even if it does seem unambitious.

 

If Lee Johnson were to be removed from his position, then does the club look to go down the Head Coach route again, or will we go back to appointing a manager? Will that affect the standard & quality of people applying? Would potential applicants be willing to work within the current set up behind the scenes? Will the salary & available transfer budget be sticking points? Will folk be put off by the current position of the club? Will the amount of sackings made over the years make some think twice over the position? Will the club target an individual currently in employment? Would the club prefer to go for a young, upcoming bloke, or a more experienced man?
I've no answer to your question, mate, as other factors unknown to the fan base will obviously affect who may want to come here.

 

I think for Barnsley FC to be successful again we need to get rid of his set up that has clearly failed and just bring in a manager and let him manage the team on his own terms within a budget, most of the teams doing well at the moment don't dictate to a manager the type of player he should and shouldn't buy. They just let him get on with doing his job.

To be a top League 1 club again we have to aim for a good, experienced manager not just someone who would probably do better than LJ. I don't trust the board to do any of this though unfortunately.

 

As I said, mate, I honestly don't know who'd be a reasonable shout for the position, were Lee Johnson to be removed.

They tend to cost abit mate, and will want to do things there way. So I wunt hold mi breath.

I be amazed, if LJ went, we'd look any further than a Bobby/Disco partnership..

There seems to be three types. An upcoming manager that's showed a bit of something in lower leagues or same league I.e. Hill, LJ. An experienced old head like we did with Bassett or someone looking at their first step from the game into management. We have tried them all over the years but right now I favour some experience. If we aren't going to sack LJ why don't we appoint a director of football even just for this season. Lots of experience still hovering around the game and doesn't have to be a big name.

 

We don't employ a manager

We employ a head coach.

And changing one now my give us a short term lift. But looking at seasons to come would make **** all difference without other changes in culture & personnel in my opinion.

 

Can any other manager do this bad ?

Based on our history only one manager in BFC history as managed to perform worse

So does it really matter ?

How about using the money we spend on paying off a succession of managers on signing good players instead of the cheaper option who surprisingly turn out to be ****.
